the 2.4 sky is neither slow nor has poor performance. It's not a speed demon like the RL, but it does 0-60 in 7.2 seconds (that's the stick I think...if I'm not mistaken, the auto is slightly quicker), and has plenty of power to deal with traffic situations and most of all to have fun in. It's much faster than my old 300zx and also my old eclips GT that had a V6. It also handles very well.
Performance-wise, the 2.4 sky is comparable to the 2.5 BMW Z4. The RL is comparable to the 3.0 Z4. When I started thinking about a new car, I considered the sky, solstice, s2000, z3 and z4. The sky won. A RL would have been nice but I ended up with the 2.4 and am happy with it. Sure, I'll try and get as much performance and speed out of it as I can with mods like header, ecm tune, etc... and I may trade it for a RL one day but as it stands, the 2.4 is a respectable performer.
