did you freeze it and then try like a credit card to chip it off? I wouldnt use the bug and tar because as soon as the bug and tar hit the surface of the cold gum, convection takes place and takes away the effective property of the freeze effect.

Had tried the bug remover on Sunday right after it happened and it just made a mess. Did the freeze stuff yesterday, but the gum wasn't a glob any more, but a smear. The credit card got some of the thicker places off, but the smear is still there.
