Sorry if this has been asked before, but what does "picked up the allocation" really mean.

I'm trying to order a 2008 Sky and have been getting a lot of conflicting info from various dealers. Some say that they can place preliminary orders now, some say that they have to wait for pricing to be announced, most simply don't seem to know anything.

When a dealer tells me "it's still too soon for 2008s", what should I say ?
