Asian Sky: GM-Daewoo G2X Roadster Introduced in Korea

There is no Saab version on the drawing board. A bit of background... just about every GM division wanted to get their hands on this platform and most were more or less told "no."

However, their campaigns led to a lot of specilation and rumor in the press about different divisions that would be getting one. Motortrend did a story on a Chevy Stingray. Saab versions were rumored. I have seen rumored Cadillac and Buick based kappas in the past too. None were in the works, but the magazines picked up on it and ran the rumors anyway. No biggie. It's nice to be in demand!
I like the fact they are throwing this car around the globe. The more places they can create demand for it, the more viable it will remain long term. The US market is fickle (well, every market is) and as time goes on, it gets increasingly difficult to sell a sports car such as this without a redesign. Therefore, you need to keep finding new demand to keep moving product in between product cycles. Even though only a few hundred will be headed to Asia, every little bit helps.
