Why would GM put in a higher displacement (read: less fuel efficient), heavier (read: more weight and imbalance) engine at 300HP when they can deliver 290HP and 310 lb-ft with a tune of the current 2.0 I4?
In fact, as a result of the current gas price jump, GM is looking at offering our 260HP I4 as a low end option on the new Camaro, which currently carries a 300 HP V6 on the low end.
