I find that most stuff that I need to carry will fit in the front seat if you can't get it in the trunk. If it's something a bit bigger, put the top down. You can use the trailer hitch as well when you need to carry bulky stuff.

This coming from someone that more or less lives out of his Sky when he's back in the States.
