The problem with the SKY isn't the lack of trunk space, it's the "shape" of the trunk space. If you are willing to acquire new luggage and be creative, and your primary objective is space for a "road trip", you will be surprised at what the SKY can hold in the trunk.

But that presumes your primary objective is "stuff" for a road trip, as you noted. Are you concerned about more than luggage? Do you need to run down to the hardware store on a regular basis and pick up sheetrock? Do you need to bring home a coffee table, or a big screen TV? In a nutshell, does your life require you to transport things with odd shapes or things that are somewhat bulky. If so, you need to find a vehicle that can accommodate such things. But if it's just "stuff" for road trip, the SKY should work out.


Edit: The smart ad page recognized this thread was about auto luggage and presented me with Target's Axius Rooftop Cargo Carrier. LoL, I guess the smart ad logic ain't that smart after all.
