If you really care about what's going on get a WB02 and forget about EGTs
A wideband 02 is a good idea but completely ignoring EGT's is not. Hypereutectic pistons melt over 1600* I wouldn't want to just assume everything is fine because my afr is good and then scatter engine parts everywhere.
