Pretty sure we're all talking RWHP. Corvette LS1's made around 290-300 on an Auto and 305-315 on a manual to the wheels.
Curb weight of that '83 was like 3500 lbs stock. If you're really making 290 to the wheels, and he's got a bone stock LS1, you will probably pull him. If he's not stock in any way (lighter or more power) you're likely to lose. I'd love to see the race though.
