Dwindling low volume high maintenance owners and high maintenance cars. Does the cost benefit trade make sense for GM to make anything other than token effort to support the kappa and the owners who drive them?

From what I've heard on these boards...and from personal experience...it is dawning on me that we really are the bastard step child of dead brands, cast into the arms of Uncle Chevy...who is neither inclined, trained, nor equipped to take care of us. And a GM grand daddy who doesn't care either.

Kappa Bastards...has a nice ring to it.

On Saturday September 11th we're gathering at the weekly cruise night in Putnam. When we last hooked up in Putnam in May we had a good turn out with seven roadsters in attendance.

The "cruise-in" is at the Stop & Shop Plaza, Route 44 in Putnam (just off I-395, exit 97) and starts at 4:00 and runs until about 8:00. We can meet up at CVS across the street from the Stop & Shop Plaza around 3:30 to cruise in as a group and secure a space together at the show.

I had my Redline at the dealer with top issues. They ended up replacing the canvas and the frame. All warranty, no problem. However, during the repair, they cracked the rear upper body panel which is that nice gray contoured panel between the trunklid and the passenger compartment. The panel that the wind restrictor attaches to. They are willing to replace it, but apparently this panel is hard to find. They are telling me that it is the same as a Solstice, but they look different to me. Soltice appears more rounded at the tops. Can anyone tell me if the same panel is used on both the Sky and the Soltice or where I could find one for the Sky? I hate to wait weeks for the wrong part.

I love the car, I don't like the reliablity of it.

I'm having the issue with the bubbles in the coolant. The top is okay, but I know it will eventually need repair, if I keep this long term. I don't like to drive this car anywhere I will need to park near another car.

I got the car with 800 miles on it in 08 for 24k, the KBB today with 18k on it is 20,000 trade in. I see taking a 4k cut as not a huge deal for putting 18k on it and enjoying it for two years.

I'm in a relationship, and my girlfriend says to keep it, but I could see trading this in and taking a bit of the money and getting a truck, or some type of v8 car. I want the v8 sound again.

I'll be moving out to an apartment in about a year, and I feel that with a car that is covered, would be vandalism and theft bate.

What are your opinions? Btw, after next month I will have payed it off, I had 0 % financing, so I lost nothing. If i sell it I'll have more money to save up for a house, and one day have a lotus in my garage.

We will once again cruise the hills and forests of the Skylands Region of Northwest NJ on our annual MASSC Skylands Run.

Itinerary:
10:00am - Meet at Holiday Inn Express, 176 Howard Blvd, Mount Arlington, NJ 07856
(For those who may want to arrive early and eat breakfast, there is a Cracker Barrel and a Dunkin Donuts in the shopping mall where the Holiday Inn Express is)

11:00am - Depart Holiday Inn Express

12:00 noon - Arrive at Chatterbox Drive-In for light lunch and photo op.

1:30pm - Depart Chatterbox Drive-In

2:30pm - Arrive Westfall Winery, Montague, NJ

3:30pm - Depart Westfall Winery

5:30pm - Arrive at Walpack Inn for dinner


I have changed the end of the run route a bit this year to make it a little shorter and add solli's favorite road to the route, while keeping in a lot of our favorite roads and stops. (Wouldn't want anyone to get too bored with the event! :D)

I hope to do a pre-run of the modified route some time in the next weeks, so if you can't make the main event but want to participate in a pre-run let me know and I'll keep you in the loop.

Please let me know if you will be attending and if you plan to bring a guest, so we can get a head-count for the dinner reservation

After my already bad experience with them the @$$ clowns broke my fenders. And after this conversation:

"You have to be really careful lifting these cars because..."
"Yeah, yeah, we know. It's no problem."
"Okay, because you CANNOT get the fenders any more. GM has none."
"Right, we know. It's no problem (rolling eyes at me)."

The oil change monkey broke them. And while I was taking a breath while yelling at them they let slip that they have another customer who's been waiting for one for two months. So it seems that they've broken two.

Lee Johnson Chevrolet in Kirkland, Washington. They'll never see my car again and I'll never buy another GM product. I'm sick of their (non) support for our cars and I'm utterly exasperated by their service centers where customers are treated like they are a nuisance.

My sky is an 08. It was built in 06/07. It was purchased from dealer to a small dealer sometime in late 07, I believe. It was titled first by me in December 08.

Am I still under warranty? I would think I am, but which of the three is when the warranty starts?
