I know some of you are aware that I have been working to get some slick tire wheels together, and I probably have the cheapest option out there that will fit our cars. Just figured I would share for anyone else who is looking to get some slicks on the car.

M&H was prompted by an evo vendor, and the result was that we got some sweet slicks to the market. These are available in the stock evo size, which is the same as ours, with 1" smaller wheel (17"). Link: Link to slicks

Slicks: M&H $233 each

Runner tires: (I havent gotten that far) but depending on what you get ~$120 each because 17" tires are CHEAP! Dunlop DZ101 are $116 each!

Wheels : $200 for four via winter wheel sale (any 17x8 will work):

Net cost for 4 wheels, two slicks and two runner tires: ~$900

Thats pretty decent in my book :yay:

Does anybody run wheel adapters or have wide wheels that stick out more than stock? I'd love to see pics.

To all Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky owner

The Solstice/Sky Quebec Owners Club is inviting you to join them for their first 2012 ride.
To kick-off this 2012 open roof season, we are inviting all of you for an exceptional scenery ride in the Lower Laurentians area, one of the nicest regions of the province of Quebec. Close to the greater Montreal area. It is one of the favourite choices in the province for weekend day trip.

You are all invited Saturday June 2nd, 2012. For this incredible drive do discover many local flavours, we will all meet in the town of St-Jérôme for 8H00 am in the public parking lot, located between St-George Street and Labelle Street right behind the Place Lapointe Building (10 rue St-Joseph, St-Jérôme QC)

Ville de Saint-Jérôme, capitale des Laurentides, Québec, Canada

The best solution if you are coming from out of town is to make a reservation at one of St-Jérôme hotels, (Best Western, Confort In or Super 8) I did not planned any group rate for any quantity of rooms but if I receive request, I will do so.

We will start the ride by joining St-Sauveur using only back roads. Driving through valley and farm lands we will reach the rural country side using the provincial road to Lachute. Following the Outaouais River and Deux Montagne Lake it is by going through St-Augustin and Mirabel that we will come back to St-Jérôme area for an entertaining Group dinner.

All along the way we will do many stop at different exceptional places to get the taste of different local flavors. For sure it will be appreciated by many of you. Again, this kick-off of the season ride is a must and cannot be missed.
Fraud? What voter fraud? While progressives continue to deny, deny, deny, investigative journalist James O’Keefe and Project Veritas continues to expose, expose, expose.

The latest target: North Carolina.

Project Veritas pulled up jury refusal forms and voter history documents to show that non-citizens and dead people there are registered to vote.

Watch as a man posing as a non-citizen with a passport is stubbornly encouraged by NC officials — who refuse to examine his ID — to vote. Listen to a conversation with election officials who joke about running over Supreme Court justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas. Listen to the election judge who only wants to uphold certain parts of the state constitution. And witness a University of North Carolina official chuckling as a “student” brags about voting in two different states to infiltrate GOP primaries.

As I wrote last week in my column on voter fraud:

"Over the past five months, investigative journalist James O’Keefe and his Project Veritas team have exposed systemic lapses at precincts in New Hampshire, Minnesota, Vermont and Washington, D.C. The ballots of famous public figures have been forked over to complete strangers; disenfranchisement of legitimate voters is routine. While Minnesota and New Hampshire legislators have passed new voter integrity/identification laws, O’Keefe now has been targeted for investigation and possible prosecution for blowing the whistle. And Attorney General Eric Holder is striking his usual see-no-evil, shoot-the-messenger, play-the-race-card pose.

The solution isn’t to sit back and bemoan a fantastical global conspiracy. The solution is to get off the couch, support election integrity activists like O’Keefe, and turn out in force on Election Day to eject Obama’s voter fraud coddlers. Like the old saying goes: If it ain’t close, they can’t cheat."

Donate to Project Veritas here and support the voter integrity investigations that the MSM won’t do.

A solution is needed. Some type of ID (National or Otherwise) that is valid MUST be presented
before voting....PERIOD!!!:willy: Makes common sense..

First off I want to thank everyone in this forum for adding all of your knowledge to it. From day 1 I always wanted a USB port in my 07 Sky. I looked at going after market but that was going to cost too much and need all the extra adapters too. So riding on your previous success I bought a G5 radio #20758188 off eBay of $80. I installed it easily using guides from this forum and that was the easy part. Before hitting the "buy now" button I did ask two of the local GM dealers if they could do the "unlock". The first flat out said if it is not out of a Sky or Solstice it's not going to work. The second dealer said they might be able to do it. So after the install I dropped it off and 2 hours later I got a disappointing call. It didn't work. They even call the GM tech line and they said "no way, if it didn't come with the USB option it can't be programmed in" and thanks for the $85 lesson. Well I wasn't totally shocked as I had read this may happen. Well because I trust you guys I called a third dealer in a small town South of us. I explained the situation and he said as long as you have the VIN number from the car the radio come out of it will work. Another $85 and now it works great. Now with a radio that works and two bills in hand I go to the big city dealer and ask why the techs in a small town dealer can unlock a radio and they can't? After a little while the service manager agreed they need to figure out how to do the unlocking the way the small town dealer did it and here is your $85 back. So after a little trouble I have a grey G5's radio working in my Sky. I know some of you like the piano black all down the dash but I kind of like the way this grey breaks it up. The volume works great and the chimes are a little quieter now which I don't mind. Now I can use and charge my phone or use my 16 gig nano USB that holds days of music without getting the the way at all. So once again thanks to all of your hard work and troubles to make my install easier.

Before I continue, I don't advocate that you do or do not wear your seatbelt. Use your own judgement. If you are old enough to drive a car, you can decide this yourself. This is a post describing a modification to your Sky. This is not a debate on wether or not you should wear your seatbelt. Therefore, I will ask the moderators to delet any responses that do not pertain to the topic at hand.

The mod is really quite simple.

1. Unbolt the four nuts securing the seat to the floor.
2. Tilt the seat-back forward.
3. Grab the seat in the front and lift up.
4. Unplug the connector closest to the center console under the seat. This is the connector that connects to the sensor in the seatbelt latch.
5. Repeat for the passengers side.
6. Re- install the nuts that secure the seats to the floor

That's it. No more annoying chime or blinking dash light. Also, this will not disable any of the airbags functionality as there are separate senors for those.

hi im new here and i have a 2008 saturn sky 2.4l with 7600 miles on it. its a manual trans and has never been beaten on or raced. its fully garaged and kept in show condition since its my show car. on a way home from a car meet when i would come to a stop i would stop put the car in first then start to go again i would get up to 2000 rpm to 3000rpm and the car would start kicking very very hard and would not stop until i shifted into second and then it would slow down at higher 2nd gear rpm then it will stop. i read tarantula sky's thread on shake rattle and roll and checked the drive shaft and all and i didnt notice any damage warping loose bolts etc there was no strange smells knocking noise or anything motor or trans related no clutch burning smells or anything just the car kicks very violently in 1st gear and i theoretically should have no problems it only has 7600 miles on it can anyone tell me what this could be. the trans? driveshaft? the 93 octane gas from sunoco i put in that day? please help i need this fixed before ocmd car show
