The fuel filler housing, that is, the plastic bit that attaches to the fuel filler hose and sits between the fuel door and the body of the car, is loose. This means it wiggles around and prevents the fuel door from closing completely.

I took the three screws out of it earlier today, but it appears that it just attaches to the fuel filler neck--which is also loose. Looking at the plastic filler housing, it looks like it may have had some kind of plastic snaps to it at some point that may have broken off, but it's not really clear.

I have a Solstice service manual that doesn't really indicate that it snaps or not, but it seems like it must attach somehow. Either that or my fuel filler hose that goes to the tank is misaligned somehow and is causing the filler neck to stick out a little too far.

I could have either gone in 64 and higher convertables or 05 and higher non modified cars. I figured I'd have a decent chance in 05 and higher. I scoped out the compitition a jetta, 2 stangs (a 45th aniversary edition which was pretty cool, and a newer v6 with small mods so he qualified) and an 2011 srt-8 challenger. I was like oh man this is in the bag.........

Runner up 45th aniversary stang, 3rd 2011 challenger, 1st v6 with some mods...

NO mention of the sky:eek: WHAT IS GOING ON...

ok so I'm sure it has to do with the fact most cars were classic's or antiques in the show so those three do cater to that crowd.. Leaving it the way it is seems a bit lame so i don't want that.

Replacing it is not hard, it costs around USD150 where i live but the issue is what if it happens again ?

So i was wondering if any of you have seen a patch or something i could use over it ? Since it's made by a weird material i doubt any type of patch will do.
