So I'm finally an owner of my very own saturn sky. I've been an admirer from a far for years but never bought one... This week the perfect one showed up at a local auto auction and I took it as a sign that it's time to get a sky. Paid the reserve price of 5k, had a clean car fax, info from when it was traded in, dealer inspection from 3 months ago etc. Thought I got a great deal. As I drove the car today it began learching and coming to a very tough stop, then the check engine light came on... Any ideas what's going on? Did I make a $5000 mistake?

Welcome to the forum first of all. As for your problem there are several post here pertaining to your symptoms. A trip to a dealer or local shop or auto parts store like Autozone to have the codes read would most likely give you a starting point.

Sounds like the car went into "limp Mode", a reduced power condition. I does scare the _hit out of you. Get the codes read as Hoosier GXP suggests.

Going to close this thread since it is a duplicate thread.

One thing I will add is that the 2.4 NA LE5, as far as I know, doesn't have a Limp Mode like the LNF...
