General Motors/Saturn announce new Advertising Campaign
This was mailed to me this AM from Saturn -- Keep a watch for this!
"Saturn is breaking a new advertising campaign today. Right now, you can go to the MSN homepage (www.msn.com) and click on a link to one of the new TV spots. Tonight, TV ads will appear on the "King of Queens" and "How I Met Your Mother." USA Today will have a print ad tomorrow." As a Saturn Brand Advocate - I am getting information from Saturn, that I can pass along to you.

I love the video! Very cool. Love how it harps on the "buy American if you're American" thing.
I don't think it's intended to be a 'wussification' (great word, btw, lol). Just showing that power can now be had in better, more efficient ways than previously. I believe that V12 bi-turbo is a European engine perhaps. Either that, or it's on one of the bigger GM trucks. It's never been in a Saturn that I know of. Besides, when Toyota is designing a 400-hp hybrid sports car that goes 0-60 in like 4 seconds, but still gets 30+ mpg, I don't think we're seeing any 'wussification'. :P Plus, this type of campaign should help GM in their quest to take some of the hybrid market. Very nice!

I saw the new commercial tonight! It was awesome. It actually had a Sky in it too! Most Saturn commercials barely ever show the Sky. I loved the "Rethink American" theme.

Hmmm... I saw the V12 biturbo and saw it as 'jusxtaposition'.
They were showing the 'classical, testosterone-laced' images of what it means to have 'status'. (V12 biturbo with a bajillion horsepower) then they made some statement about status or something and flashed the "hybrid" symbol...

The Saturn Website has adopted the new marketing scheme also (sorry if this is old news)... http://www.saturn.com/
You can see the "Rethink" comparisons in the opening flash presentation. I liked the previous marketing but I guess its a changing game...
