I messed up my Solstice Last night!

So for any of you who were at Bloomington last night, remember how that light pole was behind me?

Well a Mustang was parked in front of me when I was going to leave. Since I was pointed right at him, I wanted to back around a bit to miss him so I could leave. I started backing up...completely forgeting about the light pole and boom! I scraped the back edge of the driver's side fender against the pole. The edge of the fender is all scratched up. I'll try to get a picture today. I think it's fixable, but still...just another addition to my crappy week.

All week...my day would start out good and end like crap.

I've got a pic. I'll post it when I get to work.

After looking at it this morning, it's not too bad. I got lucky and mainly hit the back of the tire so I only scraped the fender. There are no marks on the side of the tire. I think it can be patched and painted no problem. That should be pretty inexpensive I think. At least I hope it can be patched and painted. Still a bummer!

My Grand Prix is another story. If they can't fix the bumper...it's $1200! Ouch!

Sorry to hear about your issue, hate when that happens.

Just as a heads up most body shos will NOT fix a bumper. only re-paint one, because the results are never perfect and the fixes do not last. The bumper is pretty much ALWAYS automatic replacement.

Actually, I've had my bumper fixed on my Grand Prix and it was worst than this. There were gouges out of some of the Pontiac letters.

I checked it out again. It's only scratched. It's almost like road rash from hitting the curb. I think if I take it up to Fender Menders, they'll fix it. And the guy there is a perfectionist. He fixed my Grand Prix and did a fantastic job. Over 2 years later and it still looks good. He's not cheap, but he's worth it.

Gpx?

Maybe this is a sign you need a GPX.

OK, I'll bite. You am stupid!

I was expecting (and probably would've done) a lot worse. Still sucks, though.

The trade-in value on the base Sol just went way down, though...who wants a car that has kissed a pole?

Remember...the pole ALWAYS wins! Hope you find an inexpensive fix.

Ouch! Well, you've got your bad luck and troubles out of the way for the year. Should be smooth sailing from here on out. Just a matter of outlook.

It's not that bad, just be glad that it didn't crack or anything. I think it actually sounded worse, than it really is.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was my tire that made the big bump! It felt a lot worse! I thought for sure my whole bumper was screwed up! Super lucky there.

I'm pretty sure it's fixable. If the guy 1 block from me can't do it (he's supposed to be very good), I know the guy in Peru will fix it and he'll do an amazing job. I'll have them look at my lift dent too. Maybe I can get everything done at once. Brake calipers...the whole nine yards! Have my decal put on...if I ever get it! Wouldn't that be cool!?!

Decal, painted brake calipers, neon, looks like I've got to get some new stuff for mine. Have to keep up with the "Old School" Solstice.
