New Here, Don't own a sky... yet

Okay let me introduce myself. I'm Bart a 19 year old from Baltimore, MD. I got a car real cheap when I was 15, 1998 Ford Escort. I have done some stuff to it. I'll show some pictures. Anyway, reciently I have been very much impressed by the Sky and am actually looking at getting one in two years after I graduate from college and have a steady income so I can make the payments. Just joined here to read and learn even more about the car of my future. By the way, I've always been a convertable kind of guy, just never found the one I felt I could afford and enjoy. The Sky is it.

Here are the pictures:

that was a carshow a few years ago

I know its not great but I did work with what I was practically given and made it as I like it. This thing will keep me rolling for two more years.

Welcome, Parrothead! As you've noticed, weekends tend to be kinda slow around these parts. Nice work with the 'Scort- can't wait to see what you do when you get your Sky!

Hey bart

I am 24 and have owned the sky for about 6 months and love it....unfort....it is cold in minnesota so I drive my 2002 eclipse in the winter......and far as showing off your ford escort......now comes the jerk of me cause this bugs the hell of me

My personal opinion is people that "pimp" out cars like neons and escorts are trying to hard......you just can't make a neon look like a viper......I love seeing these people in these cars......I laugh

wait for you sky and stop wasting money on a ford escort......

to each there own I guess

Listen I am working with what I have. How am I trying to make my car look like a viper? Because I customized it the way I like it? exactly to each his own. I've realized that the TVs were pointless but we live and learn. But I haven't added any mods for a few years anyway. and I am saving up for my sky. By the way I've gotten many people telling me that they have liked my escort. I guess you don't but frankly I don't care, because there are people who will criticise you for everything you do. And you're one of them.

Howdy Bart, Welcome to our Forum. As stated above you will learn alot about the Sky here alright, but beware, we also have lotsa wipper snappers about and some people here can be brutal at times--Just blow those guys off, enjoy your stay, donno how your gonna manage to wait 2 years for a Sky, hmm that will mean you'll be getting a 2010 version--

hey junior

You don't care what other people think......however you message to me was rather harsh and you were pissed when someone said it was a chick car while you were in it.......You don't come across as someone that doesn't care what other think......if you did you would have wrote...I like it and that is all that matters.....

All I stated was I think it is dumb that people spend more to make there car look cool or try, then what they paid for the car.

Good luck getting your sky....no harsh feeling, just hate seeing money go to waste, when it can be used for a sky

Thanks for the welcome. Yah I don't wanna wait that much, which is why I'm trying to learn as much as possible before I get it! I swear I dont know how to wait that long. Its gonna kill me! But there's somethings worth waiting for and this car is one. I might try to get it a bit earlier or I might try to get a 2009 early in 2010.

hey guys. sorry to bump this, it isn't my purpose. I just figured out something. I figured out when I'm gonna get the car. I'm gonna stick with my escort only 43k, until late 2008, so a little less than 2 years. Then I'm going to try to get a base SKY 2008 while the 09s start coming out. I'm really not picky for options. I would like the nicer sound system and a spoiler, but I have a few colors I like and probably leather, and hopefully heated leather seats !! PLEASE!!

leased 2007's should start hitting the lots around that time. You could also possibly pick up an off lease vehicle still on warranty, and also purchase an extended warranty for yourself. That'd probably be the most cost effective.

thats a good idea Antonio. I didn't even think about the leases. I just don't want to get a car that was dogged you know?

I agree with you totally, i just wanted to put out the other option. Leased cars usually are in pretty good condition. Owners of leased cars usually are under mileage limits so a leased car will almost always have less miles than an equal year used car. Also they tend to be in better condition because people know that they will have to return it (if they don't choose to buy out the lease)
