i saw one up close at the NY auto show, great looking car. I they mentioned a V8 in it, but never gave a HP number....362!! WOW

It seems like Pontiac is taking direct aim at the BMW M3. I'd like to see how much the production models keep all this early concept fluff.

Personally...i think the car is ugly...the rims look horrible..the steering wheel is something out of a spaceship....muscle does not make a car look appealing....the new camero has both....chevy will not be able to close their doors when it brings it into production.

The G8 will end up in the same junk pile as the GTO

It's got its pre-production fluff. I'm sure those won't be the production rims, although I do like them. This car seems to have the love it or leave it appearance. But if Pontiac sets this thing up right, and at the right price, it could compete with BWM's and Mercedes in performance. From what I can see in the pictures, the interior may not be as luxorious as the other makers, but I don't think Pontiac intends for it to be High Luxory.

The GTO, although a good car, had its drawbacks. It just didn't look like gto's of old. Had a great engine, and was easy to enhance, but they didn't handle well, and well.......just swing and a miss.

The G8, however, looks as Pontiac as it gets. I'd love to test drive one before really making any big opinions of it. As far as the Camaro goes, I think it's being hyped a bit. I think people are going more for the name rather than the car. What about the return of the Trans Am and the screaming chicken hood? No one seems to care, even though in my opnion looks a wee bit nicer than the Camaro. On paper they both seem like a great car, but I hold my decisions until I can drive one.

Trans AM comes to life in 2011 I believe...but I am not a fan of the rear end that will be resurrected...Antonio, that screaming chicken as you refer to, will pull it off to performance customers...to me it doesn't have the same attraction as the Camero...the new Challenger will be out in '08...which is a Barracuda but they could not put that name on because Plymouth does not exist, hence a Chrysler Challenger.

The firebird is dead. The GTO will be back in a few years when the Camaro comes back.
The GTO was not the failure many think it was. It far outsold comparable cars for the same time (Mustang Cobra).

Though I am bias; I love my Goat. If the car was brought out with another name, I think peoples opinions would have been different.
