Saturn's next hot ride?
It's just a concept car but I'm liking it! I would like to see a bit more HP but I'm greedy.
I really try not to fall in love with concept cars, it tends to be soo disapointing but I can't help it this time. It's AWD as well making it a nice all weather partner for the Sky. Even dumbed down for mass production this would be a real gem for Opel and Saturn.2007 Opel Gran Turismo Coupe Concept set to debut in Geneva, here's some previews and commentary. We can only hope this Opel coupe comes to the US as the Saturn Whoop-Ass, SAAB Sonnet, heck, we'd even let them call it the Allante II. http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2007/03...a-concept.html http://www.autoblog.com/2007/03/03/g...coupe-concept/ http://cars.ign.com/articles/770/770448p1.html |

You think its maybe the same platform as the Aura? The front end size lends to look that way, but thats where the similarities cease.
Either way, It has borrowed the lines and curves from a lot of coupes and sedans I like on the road today. Get my deposit down for the Saturn Whoop Ass and get www.whoopasscar.com registered pronto.

Oh man.....wow!
The article said it's on the Vectra platform, so that would be the same as the AURA, I believe. Looks a little like a G35 to me, but that's perfectly OK in my book. The G35s are nice! 300HP Turbo AWD! WOOT! ![]()

Sorry guys/gals, I don't like it. I think it looks to much like the Infinite G(infinite version of the new Z). The front end head lights look good, but the side view is too "blaugh" and plain jane. The wheels don't seem to match the car either. They look too dark. The interior is a masterpiece though - they could lose the shifter knob though. I think the sides of the car need something else. The rear looks unrealistic with the tailpipes. The issue with this car is the front says "tough", the sides say "smooth" and the rear says tough. They need to get the sides in line with the rest of the car, or tone down the front and rear. If they tone down the front and rear it will be called a G wannabe. I say toughen up the look of the sides and change the rims and this will be a winner.

just to give you some info, it was rumored through the industry that this may eventually come to the US (if it goes into production) as a much needed replacement for the monte carlo (which is now dead x_x). I like gm, especially saturn recently, but dont forget, chevy needs some help too to continue its regrowth.

It could work out that way but it's not like Chevy is being neglected. In fact it's Chevy's big new Camaro release for 08/09 that makes the brand the worst fit for another coupe IMO. Even given the differences between a FWD/AWD drivetrain and a RWD drivetrain it seems bringing the GT in as a Monte Carlo would put it right up against the new Camaro. If you want a Chevy coupe there will be the Cobalt in the low $10s to low $20s range and then the Camaro in the low $20s to low $30s range. They could do it but several other brands (not just Saturn) make more sense IMO. Pontiac is pretty marginal as well IMO with a souped up Camaro (with new body panels) using the GTO or Firebird nameplate fitting a bit better there.
