1. The Sky became available to purchase too late in the year to be considered for classification by the SCCA. As it was, the Solstice barely made it in to the rules for 2006. 2. Pontiac made a special option package available for SCCA racing, namely the ZOK option group. (Base Solstice, Anti-Lock brakes, Limited slip differential, and special handling package, - NO other options allowed.) They also made a specialized carbon fiber hardtop available. A hardtop is mandatory for SCCA SSB class. This hardtop is only available by submitting your ZOK VIN# and a copy of your SCCA competition license. 3. The Sky is heavier than the Solstice yet has the same base engine and is therefore not as desirable and would have slightly degraded performance on the track due to its greater weight. 4. Pontiac made a special effort to get the ZOKs into the hands of some of the better teams/drivers at the start of the season. So, unless Saturn, wants to, and can afford to, do the same type of promotion and development for the coming year, you're probably not going to see Skys racing in SCCA SSB. |

The Sky is classified in SOLO C-Stock along with the Solstice at least.
The Sky not having a Z0K option is the real killer in my opinion as to why it'll never be seen as a viable race car option like the Solstice has become in SCCA.
