Temporary Insanity.....Bought Angel a Big Brother Yesterday

So I was possessed by the car buying demon this past week.

But honestly, after being forced by the bad weather into leaving my GXP in the garage for the last week and driving my old 1999 Grand Prix, I started cruising the web looking at what kind of replacement options were out there that would be within my currently strained budget.

I noticed that GM is currently offering several rebates on left-over 2006 vehicles, if you can actually find one. Did a little searching around and found a 2006 Grand Prix GT available and only 100 or so miles away. So I drove the old GP (without A/C ) down to the dealership in south Jersey yesterday. Made a reasonable deal to trade in the old, ailing GP and drove home in my new supercharged Grand Prix GT.

Here is a picture. Not a great pic, but the weather is kind of overcast today.

It is Stealth Grey Metallic (kind of a steel blue-grey, not like Sly at all) with ebony cloth interior.

Comes standard with some pretty neat features:
Tire inflation monitor
Remote Vehicle Start
OnStar
ABS & Traction Control
Trip Computer, which is like the DIC but with additional functions, such as gauge readouts for boost, engine hours, battery voltage, transmission fluid temp. And one of my favorites, instantaneous mileage (was fun to watch this read 99.9 when cruising downhill)

Not too many options over what is standard on a GT:
Sun & Sound package - which gives you the Sunroof and the premium stereo with 6 CD changer and Monsoon Speakers.
Floor mats - which are currnently missing, but the dealer is either going to find the ones that came with the car or order new ones and send them to me.
GM Accesories Custom Rear Spoiler - Dealer installed (kinda funky looking, but you can't be too fussy when bargain hunting)
Pinstriping on the sides (no additional cost added for this, so how can I complain?)

Overall I am quite happy with the purchase - and I hear that a steady diet of PB&J can actually be quite healthy.

That is gorgeous. You are THE Pontiac Gal. Powdered Milk goes great with PB&J
