What kind of driver are you?
Thought this might be interesting. Simple question, rate your own driving skills.
This is an anoymous poll. Notice, cleverly, I didn't leave an out. No 'exactly average' choice. If you think you're a 51%ile driver, then you're "just slightly above average driving skill". Criteria is whatever you think makes sense. When someone asks you how good a driver you are, we all have different ways of answering the question, so just vote what you think. I'm not starting this off, and my vote is unfair anyways because I have already some idea of how an independent observer would rate my driving skill level. Should be fun.

If few or no accidents or speeding tickets is good ... or how quick you can make it to work or down a roadway ... and each human thinks they are the safest or best driver. I have seen many front or back seat drivers react to someone who swears they ARE in the top 5%.

Haha, well, at least for the area I live in, I am definitely an above average driver. I definitely would not put myself in the 'top' category though because I know I do stupid stuff, and there are some days where I really just don't feel like being a nice driver, lol.
But around here, NOBODY knows how to drive in lousy weather. It will rain about an 1" total all day long and people are freaking out and wrecking all over the place. They'll be driving like 40 mph on the Interstate. Having learned to drive, and then lived for 7 years in FL, I know quite well how to drive in rain. In FL, it's got to be raining about an 1" every ten minutes for people to start changing their driving habbits. So, I tend to be chugging right along normally while everyone else here is going crazy. Snow's a little different though. While I can apply some of my rain driving knowledge to snow, I'm quite the 'newbie' when it comes to icy road conditions. Been blessed so far with no accident's because of it though, and I've learned quickly how to drive well on it. I still see way too many people following too closely on days when it's icy. ![]()

Isn't it odd that almost everyone is above average?
I learned a statistics lesson from my moist towelette package at Hooters. The package claims that 51.83 percent of statistics are made up.

I think driving a kappa has made me a better driver. That and because I had a motorcycle at one point. We all learn to be ultra defensive drivers after a few close calls.

I put myself in the 'definitly above average'. My reasoning is that I have two moving violations and no accidents (insert jinx comments here) in 38 years of driving. I figger every other driver has one job while on the road and that is to kill me so I try to be really alert. I think the SKY has made me a little bit better driver too because of it's low stance.
Now having said that - take me out to a track and I'll prove myself to be a complete idiot. No experience in road course driving (but I do watch it on TV!) and little experience in really bad weather like snow/ice/heavy rain. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. ![]()

I must be among the worst,
even though no accidents or tickets for many, many years. I have learned to drive as if everyone else is trying to crash into me and no one has the skill of courtesy.![]()

With all the training I have had, with all the different types of vehicles, including tanks and half-tracks, busses, tractor-trailers, fuel-trucks, race cars, motorcycles-ALL the defensive schools you can imagine--yea yea, I have all of that, so I am a pro--you know what? Don't mean squat--Any drunk dimwitt can still run a red-light or stop sign and still kill my ass--The key to surviving? DRIVE DEFENSIVELY--is all I can tell ya--

Except if you do that, then it pulls everybody down on the scale! Soon, your above average is now your average! :P
