Not a chop. Here's another view of a different Elise with the blackened headlights.

The Elise is HOT, I thought about buying one before I got my Solstice instead.

Koenigsegg pwned!!!111!!!!ZOMG!!!!!1111

On a serious note, that is the ultimate dream car of mine, I'll settle for an S7 Saleen or a Porsche Carrera GT, but for a Koenigsegg, I'll sell you my sister and my pug dog.... I was lucky enough to drive next to a Koenigsegg in my Solstice for a block in Costa Mesa on its unofficial public appearance in the US a week before its official debut in Vegas. My gosh that machine is incredible. And Lamborghini doors has nothing on Koenigsegg's doors! Those 90 degree doors are pukingly sick (in a positive term).

Might I add that yellow car above will be my next car after 3 or 4 years, either that Elise or perhaps an Exige.

PS. Jdigiant posted a nice photo of the Elise bottom a while back, if you guys still remember.

Was once on my list...

First time I saw one was on the Autobahn between Munich and Salzburg. I was in the back seat of a typical Mercedes taxi traveling at autobahn speeds (circa 140 kph) and the driver was passing many other cars. When the driver quickly changed into the right lane I knew this meant that another car was quickly coming up on us. If you have ever driven on the German autobahns, you know to look into your rear view mirror often when in the passing lane and to quickly pull over when you see a car blinking its lights, even when it is in the distance you need to move over quickly because it will be on your tail very quickly.

Still tired from my meeting in Munich I only casually glanced out the window expecting to see a larger Mercedes or BMW pass by, but to my surprise I was stunned by a bright yellow streak and only caught a quick glance at one of the best looking cars I have ever seen. I offered the driver an extra tip if he caught up to it and while he tried, he never did get very close. Actually only when the speed dropped down to 100 klicks was I able to see enough of it to figure out what it was.

Love at first sight – given the setting, you bet. Before then I wanted a Cobra and believe me living in Europe I had the chance to see all kinds of cool cars. When I lived in Vienna my residence was near Nikki Lauda and I occasionally saw him out in exotic cars (he either had many, traded often, or was loaned them for marketing opportunities). I also visited several of the European auto maker’s factories, but nothing compared to the Elise.

That is until the Sky. There is something about this car that sets it apart from all the others and it is not the price. But then I am preaching to the choir, so I’ll finish now.

Actually saw a yellow one with the black trim today go right past me in a parking lot at lunch today.

The Lotus Elise is not a SKY, though. The interior is very small, very spartan. The Elise is more of a track car that you can drive on the street versus the SKY which is a street car that you can take on a track.
