Follow-Up test: 2007 Saturn Sky Redline

For those of you who want to get your blood pressure up, read this review by Edmunds:

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do....photopanel..2

Here's a quick summary:

What Works: Among the best looking vehicles on the road. affordable turbo power is a great addition.

What Needs Work: Handling and steering feedback still don't measure up to the competition. Ergonomic and storage issues persist.

Bottom Line: Traffic-stopping design with a strong engine. It won't satisfy the driving enthusiasts, but the general public will love it.

Guess we should stop organizing weekend drives - makes us look too much like enthusiasts, you know!

Well I'll agree that the Sky has some ergonomic issues and a lack of interior space. I love the interior overall but a few small changes could make a big difference. Cupholders etc aren't the most important things in a roadster by any means but they are valid complaints. Same goes for the interior space issues. It's good to push GM to improve the ergonomics as I think a few small changes could make the Sky a clear market leader in this regard as it's almost there aside from a few small but annoying details IMO. Now regarding storage space, it's a roadster and I don't mind packing light so that's not a huge problem but it's still an area GM should look to improve for the future.

On the rest, eh typical overdramatic writing that you find from journalists and the typical Miata obsession Mazda has ingrained into short auto journalists over the last decade+. In the end he admits it's almost perfect despite all the complaining though.

The guy who penned that - Mike Schmidt, Vehicle Testing Assistant -took the article to 80%, but when the true reading enthusiast pushed it beyond 80% they found that the rest was lacking. He was almost a decent writer.

(I guess that's why he is listed as a "Vehicle Testing Assistant" - whatever the Hell that is...)

What

"By Mike Schmidt, Vehicle Testing Assistant"

Now thats lame a testing ASSISTANT. What did he do fill her up first. He must not have assisted on the steering.

That article should come with the same SH_T he was smokin when he wrote it. Just so we can have the same perspective.
