Gullwing Kappa?

Here's some old pictures (2003) I found on-line of an Opel expermental coupe. Note the similarity of the lines with the Sky. I wonder it this is based on the Kappa chassis? One thing that is diffenitely different is it is powered by a rear mounted 1.3 liter diesel engine.

Styling cues do not a platform make.

What makes a Kappa a Kappa is the structure of the chassis, suspension, engine bay location, wheelbase, track, etc.)

The SKYesque lines (compound headlights, "V-shaped" grille, creased fenders, split tail lights) can be placed on any car. The Aura, for example, has a lot of styling cues similar to the SKY. And all of those are from the Opel look which has been around for years. Check out the Opel Speedster and you see a lot of hints of the future SKY.

It's the chassis that makes it a Kappa, not the "lines." You could make an extra-blobby Solstice with big, round bulgy fenders and a boat-tail butt and it could still be a Kappa - even though it looks nothing like a SKY.

Cool car!

Yes you are right..The pictures show the Opel Speedster.
The model was part of the testing that became the model with diesel engine

It would be nice to have a hard top like that...but the Sportwagen studies on the SKY is very interesting.
With the hardtop shaped like that on the car it looks very much like the Alfa Romeo Sportwagen
