News OFFICIAL Hydro Blue Numbers...

Here is the OFFICIAL information on the production #'s on ALL the Hydro Blue's produced...
Quote:
Hydro Blue:

40 Base (30 still in inventory as of 7/7/09)
49 Red Line (33 still in inventory as of 7/7/09)

89 TOTAL

Hydro Blue SKYs are quite rare because the production schedule was shortened due to weeks down at the plant. Our intent was to build 500, but as you see we only built 89.
There you go...

This IS the rarest SKY ever produced...

Get one if you want a really rare one...

Regards,

BA...

According to the saturnofflorida website the dealership group of Orlando/Gainesville has 2 Hydro Redlines, one auto and one standard. Go get'em!

Saturn of Tulsa still has one, Red Line Automatic. If it was a manual hubby would have been SHOCKED when he came home today.
I will volunteer to drive it home for anyone out of state

89 Total?!?! HOLY cow. And most of them are still in dealer inventory. Amazing that they had planned to build 500 and the plant closures only let them get 89 out the door...

I really wish we knew more about the very last Sky built. What was it? Where was it shipped?

Sky Spy, thank you for your efforts to fill in the info gaps for us. History has shown how important this is. These Special/Limited Edition Skys really are pretty neat items. I only found out today that they got their own specific VIN code saying if they are a Ruby Red Redline LE 5 speed, or a Hydro Blue 2.4 with an automatic, etc. We know they built 69 ZL1 Camaro in 1969. Now, we have our numbers for our Skys. Thanks for digging that out for us!

2009 Sky Redline Ruby Red Limited Edition

Can anyone post what makes the Hydro and Ruby Red Limited Editions - is there anything beyond the color and stripe?

What makes a Special Edition for Hydro Blue:
  1. Color
  2. Blue stitching in the seats, doors, steering wheel and shifter boot
  3. Split Spoke wheels
  4. Stripe

What makes a Special Edition for Ruby Red:
  1. Red stitching in the seats, doors, steering wheel and shifter boot
  2. Split Spoke wheels
  3. Stripe

2009 - Saturn Sky Red Line Special Edition - SaturnFans Photo Forums

The Ruby Red can be ordered without the special edition items and neither special edition comes with a spoiler option, it has to be dealer installed. If anyone out there has more info feel free to post. And from what many have said, the pix don't do the colors justice. They are much better in person.

Very cool that the Hydro Blue is SO limited in numbers. SO, now its a question of spending $35K for another Sky RL OR $20 for a 70s Trans Am OR take the money and pay off debt? Or wait until GM decides to sell the 2010 Solstice GXP Coupe Heritage Edition that is on its way (or is already there) to the Heritage Collection in MI... Oh what to do

manual vs. automatic numbers?

89 total! Wow! I have one of them. Picked up my Redline Hydro Blue Special Edition with manual transmission yesterday (8/29/09). It is beautiful! Does anyone know the exact production numbers reguarding automatic transmission vs. manual transmission? I have seen several automatics still available at dealers around the country, but getting my manual transmission was difficult, to say the least. There were only 7 Redlines with manual transmission within 1000 miles of me. And these dealers did not want to work with my dealer. Luckily, the sales manager was able to work a deal for me. Anyway, if possible, I would like to know the breakdown of transmissions for these 89 beautiful cars. Thanks

Any idea how many 2009 Hydro Blue 2.4 liter manual transmissions built? I just bought one with 2500 miles on it.

Don't know the specific quantities of the RL vs. 2.4's, but for the Solstice Coupe only 24-28% were made with Manual transmissions. Could this average be about right for the Hydro Blue SE's also. They were produced about the same timeframe. Our Hydro Blue came off the assembly line in the same month as our Coupe, April '09.
