Mods, Nemesis has no succeeded in turning this thread into a "He's right and everyone else is wrong and sucks" thread instead of a thread about the Atom. I tried keeping it on topic about the car, but alas, it didn't work. Time to lock this one up.

Starting a thread doesnt bring full ownership rights with close requests. We try to avoid folks jamming in the last word and demanding a close. Let's keep it civil and try to stay on topic. Thanks.

BACK ON TOPIC:

My opinion was that the atom looks like a frame with wheels and an engine, is useless for anything more then summer racing, and I would rather have a high-end corvette. Anyone that goes back through the thread can see that you like to drown others in your over-bearing opinions: I was making a point that I feel everyone noticed: You always have to have the last word. You probably sat for hours trying to figure out how to.

The atom is the go-cart of choice for a handful of people, I understand that.
My opinion was that it was a waste of money for something that could be used for so little. You seemed bent on forcing your opinion down everyone's throat and I found it annoying. When you feel strongly about something avoid striking out at others to drive the point home. There are a lot of us that have been around here since before the sky was built. We all get along and understand how to disagree with someone without jerking their chain.

Skip I opened the thread, but I don't plan on requesting a close/lock many of th eposts have redeeming points discussing the atom. I personally wouldn't pay the price for a super sized go-cart, but sure can see where it might be fun to own/drive.....

So sorry I thought that the other dude opened the thread. But if you ever want to close a thread that is how I have done it in the past. But then I make sure that everybody has their say first. As to the Atom I would not like to own one for the reason that I get enough protien in my life without opening my mouth at 60 MPH and swallowing bugs coming at you. Much less what it would do to the looks of my face from going at high speeds, but then again it might make me look better. Hehehehe....Skip...

How do I always have to have the last word? The word was that it seemed like this thread had run it's course and should have been finished. Since you started talking about the car again, we'll keep talking about it. I wasn't trying to force my opinion on anyone, it just seemed that everything I said you tried to discount and that annoyed me. You didn't once say I had any valid points, you just told me why my OPINIONS were "wrong" based on your logic. Why is this any more a waste of money than a sport bike that is then modified to cost somewhere around 30,000 between custom engine parts and paint, etc? I see it as serving the same purpose, but being bigger and requiring quite a bit of engineering over the typical sport bike. For a vehicle that is hand built, you would have to expect the car to then rise in price even more. It's all about the craftsmanship that goes into it. "Worth" is a subjective point. If I won the lottery today, I would buy the Atom over the top of the line vette because I like being different (thus the reason I have a supercharged Saturn) and Vettes, as awesome as the newest Z06 is, is just in a different type of league as the Atom.

On this point; I was here about 4 months before you, so I know how the joking goes on this board, and I also know who to expect it from, and I definitely know how to disagree with people here, because I've seen some pretty big ones through out the past 2 years.

This is the last time I will respond to you on a personal level, because I am no going to give anyone the perception that I need tohave the last word. You again prove my point, that you must have the last word. I am sure you will respond to this reply using the excuse: I am only responding because I have a valid point.

- I never said you hadn't been here long, I was merely stating that I had been here a long time and was one that knew how to get along. Something you are apparently still trying to grasp.
- Why would I say you had a valid point if I disagree with the majority of your opinion? Captain Obvious: you seem to be harping on the "your opinion was wrong" thing. There was a reason I put the jester emoticon at the end of the comment, it was a joke.
-The difference in the atom and a sport bike with mods, is that the sport bike can be driven on the road, and costs a lot less for the same performance.

The atom is fully road legal too, and doesn't take a special license to operate, and would also wind up being ALOT safer in a wreck than any bike could be.

Responding to your post right now has nothing to do with the "last word" it has to do with the fact that I have a response to what you said. That's how a conversation works.

-I wouldn't purchase a bike either. Though I love the thought, people don't see you. Which begs the question: How safe is this atom? Airbags? Certainly the driver isn't shielded in the event of a re-tread blow out or something of that nature. Atleast the sky has doors and a windscreen. For that money, I would expect more. More safety, more protection, more practicality. Not my cup of tea.
