I am still conflicted on the C7, and probably will be for a while. But the more I look at the Convertible Rendering, the more I start thinking "Hmmmm, might have to own one some day".

It is butt ugly. Most on the Corvette forum agree. It is a boy racer car. Anyone over 30 in that car will give the same impression as they would in a Neon with a wing and body kit. Anyone under 30 who can afford it will not buy American. Fail! The end of the Corvette! What Government Motors wants anyway.
When the rumor first came out about it looking like a camaro rear end I honestly thought it was for a sales pitch and never would have guessed they would actually do it. They kept that part of the car out of sight till the last minuet and that was what they were trying to do but most of us thought NO WAY would they do that. Sure fooled us. . LOL
ITs the new look geared at the younger crowed and GM is trying to grab a part of that younger generation away that they do not control now with the adv age of us owning one is 49 years young.
To grab that part they had to design it different. Thats my thought on the matter.
Still hold me guns on the interior but Midnightblue just out of shear respect, i'll back up my thoughts to only 15 to 20... Hows that... .....

That right there, now that is hilarious. I wouldn't doubt it, given the front head lights on that sucker.
But still a classic worth keeping alive.
Yup - less than 500 made, and an interesting take on a British Corvette - plastic body, Chrysler 383 big block, 4 wheel discs (before Corvettes had them).
The dog scaring thing is the honest truth, BTW. We saw 3 dogs within a summer see the car and react atypically. One ran awy yelping, and one standing at the edge of the road jumped when he saw the car, tangled his legs together and then fell down the ditch adjoining the road. The other just ran. It has also hit a dead pig that fell off a truck in front of us, so there is some serious animal mojo going on there.

God I hope those taillights are a one year only mistake.
Retro only works if you have something "new" to retro.

Three, not two carbs. It is a big block Chrysler Sixpack. Around 1200 cfm.
And once set they rarely need any attention. Now if you want work, my Lambo has six dual throat Webers and each throat is adjusted separately.....

Whoever designed the interior of this car...had to be one of the designers of the ugly dash of the solstice...where else could/would they come up with the center grab/hand rail from the dash...
Removable top - Solstice
Oh Crap Grab Bar - Solstice
Sharp angles - Sky
Tail Lights - Camaro
Nav System - Cady
Seats - Thank God they finely made something new...........
