Mercedes not happy with Consumer Reports

Man, ever since that merger with Chrysler and the ML SUV made in the US Mercedes quality has plummetted:

GM and Hyndaui have made strides, yet Merc is falling apart (literally!).

This cracks me up:

Quote:
Research by Peterson's own firm, AutoPacific, substantiates CR's findings.
You don't think an outfit named "AutoPacific" would have a bias in favor of Japanese cars, do you? I mean, why would "AutoPacific" want to say, "Yep! We agree that Mercedes are crap. Maybe you should buy a Lexus or Infinity or Acura instead..."

Hmmmm...

I traded in my Mercedes SLK ("Scarlett") to get Raven. I haven't regretted it for one day since doing the deal. This is despite the facts that my Mercedes had more power (missed when merging on onramps) and bigger trunk space (missed when Christmas shopping). I'm sure I'll miss the hard top during our first storm of the winter here in SoCal.

But when it comes right down to it, I absolutely DESPISED the dealers (snobs), hated my service reps (jerks) and disliked the new designs of the cars. They always treated me like I should be grateful for the chance to be able to drive a Mercedes, not like I was a valued customer -- like Saturn has done. I am more than happy to put up with a little trunk and little HP to feel as though I'm appreciated and the lower car payments don't hurt either!!
