OUR guy designed the MT Car of the year!

The Tesla Model S.

First time they can remember all 11 judges 100% certain it was hands-down winner.

Plus the first time a non-combustion engine won.

The man in charge of designing the Tesla Model S ,Franz von Holzhausen..
is also credited with designing the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky (as referenced in many of the articles...

I was sitting at a light tonight and a Karma pulled up next to me. The rear deck lid sat about 3/16" higher than the fender. Sad.

I am a big fan of the Karma and Elise also... but I don't think the Tesla is in the same category.

Tesla is a luxury vehicle built for room and comfort, and happens to be electric, and with the higher end models, has "pull your face back" acceleration.

To each his own but for Tesla money, I'll take a 911 or a Z06 and pocket what is left. To be honest I wouldn't trade the Sky for a new Tesla unless it was to sell the Tesla immediately and buy a sports car that isn't a novelty.

the big knock on the Tesla, is that the battery packs are very expensive and do not last. Its a battery. I read somewhere that $40,000 of the top-of-line $100k model are batteries that will need to be replaced!
