Saturn Aura Midsize Sedan Voted As the Best - Four Times Over

Oshawa, Ontario (February 19, 2007) –

With so many ‘Car of the Year’ competitions out there, it can be hard to determine which cars really stand out, but when one of them wins four significant awards in less than 2 months, there can be little doubt – and the all-new Saturn Aura has done just that.

The Aura started 2007 off with a bang, being honoured as “North American Car of the Year” by a panel of 49 independent automotive journalists from across the U.S. and Canada ,who scored the Saturn Aura with more than double the points of its nearest midsize competitor.

This was followed by the Aura winning back-to-back recognition in both Canada and the U.S., including Motoring Television’s “2007 Car of the Year” award, MotorWeek’s “Drivers’ Choice award for the Best New Family Sedan” and World of Wheels magazine selecting the Saturn Aura as the “Editor’s Choice for Family Sedan”.

“We’re thrilled that the all-new Saturn Aura is making its mark at the top of this highly competitive segment,” said Marc Comeau, vice president of Sales, Service and Marketing for GM of Canada. “The Aura epitomizes the new product direction that is coupled with Saturn's leading, customer- friendly retail process and we think the Aura will make a lot of competitive midsize buyers re-think their purchase plans.”

Upon its introduction last year, the Aura caught the eye of the automotive media and the public with its European-influenced style and refinement inside and out. The Aura’s dynamic driving character received immediate praise, and its impressive content and surprisingly affordable price are making it stand apart in the segment.

The impressively equipped Aura XE starts at just $24,990 and the up-level XR starts at $31,080. This spring, an Aura Green Line hybrid model will also be offered starting at just $27,290 – making it Canada’s most affordable – and most stylish – midsize hybrid.

Saturn launched three all-new vehicles in 2006 – the Sky roadster, Aura and the Outlook crossover utility and these will be followed in 2007 with the all-new Saturn Vue compact crossover and the Saturn Astra which will mark a complete reinvention of the product lineup in just 20 months.
