I know that the Plants around here , not Auto, will send employes to rehab for Drugs, not sure about booze. They will do this 2 times and we are a Right to work State and none of the plants are Union. So Shocked? Angry? or Happy? None of the above.

This is, in my opinion, an example of how unions can fail us. They should be helping the company fire employees who drink and use drugs on the job, or come to work under the influence. This is how to keep the company, INCLUDING its employees, healthy.

Well then why don't we re fire them. Post a Doctor at the entrance of every business in America and Drug / Alcohol Test everyone including Management before they are allowed to enter the Building. America would shut down. That's why they only do random testing on the job. After they clean out the workers parking lot. Then go up to the Offices and clear out all the Booze and Coke.

Lots of speculation presented as fact, or do you have some studies/data that back up your assertions?

I'm not anti-union. I am anti-not holding people accountable. The color of the collar doesn't matter to me. Before I bailed out GM and Chrysler, I'd have made Waggoner and his Chrysler counterpart ante up and put their accumulated wealth into their company stock.

And... I don't want to buy, drive, or ride in a car that was built by a drunk, high, or otherwise impaired person.

The same place you got your facts, except check the court dockets also. Sure sounded like you are anti union/worker. I have worked for union shops and non union shops. They are the same except you have a better chance against the bosses with the union, but if they want to get rid of you they will. Screw up big enough and you are gone unless it is a government job. Then they promote you out of the way. I have also worked in 4 different branches of the government. The work done by the people who suffered under the working conditions before the unions came along has long been forgotten by the workers of today. Texas is a right to work state. What does that mean. The boss can fire you for anything he wants to except the 7 protected rights the feds have given you. Then he will just hound you to death until you quit. Have the unions out lived their usefulness today. Could be. But look around at the restaurants and bars that people go to lunch at. How many have a drink with their meals. They are at a company meeting with an open bar. I have no problem with firing everyone of them , but blame it on the unions. Our society is going down the tubes and has been for many years. My research is based on the last 64 years I have been wasting H2O on this planet. And this is the last I will say about it.

On the hull truth, my fishing forum we had one of the guys post a story about two lady officers in Miami, rented a boat, drunk as a skunk ran the boat under a dock and one of the girls lost her arm. No one was charged because they could not prove who was driving the boat, and the unions medical refused to pay with the girls being drunk so the Govn picked up the tab for both officers medical bills.
The captain got on tv and told what a wonderful officer the girl that lost her arm was, and the dept was not going to file any charges on either of the ladies.
Amazing what goes on when you control the money and no one there to police you.

Turn it around. What it is , is a very smart move on their part to show others what the union can do for you if you become apart of them. Its a very well though out political play by the unions. Got you guys attention.
Now for a crazy story.
Winston Salem, where I pull Honds out the rail yard use to be Union.
We came in , outbid them, and blew the union out the door. The owner of my company turned right around, hired the big guns that were put on layoff to run our company. First thing they did was git rid of anyone they could, hired their union boys, of course they get first pick and now , the rest of us are on the lincoln Ala run which is a lot less work but does not pay as good as staying around Winston Salem pulling two loads a day. Went for pulling 8 to 10 loads a week down to only pulling 4 now on the longer runs. Crazy how the business world works.

Unions had their place 100 years ago when workers in the US were actually abused. Now all they do is make our products cost more and TAKE AWAY MY TWINKIES!!!
