Your chance to help Saturn

Hi all. Saturn has contacted me to bring some information to you all.
They are formulating some new colors (this is Saturn - not necessarily SKY) for 2009. They'd like our suggestions for names. Since we all love surveys and stuff - they figured we'd like to give our feedback.
Here's a link for more info and the survey:
http://www.zoomerang.com/recipient/s...WEB226T3CD6Z2T

Have at it and see if you can name a Saturn Color

Hey Rick,

Tell them those are some ugly DULL colors. They should go wild. Send them this thread and tell them I did all the market research for them!

What New Color Would You Choose??

If I see a sky in that dull brown or green I will

Thanks Rick for the link.

NOT much in terms of variety. Of the colors, there may be 2 that I'd even consider on a vehicle. Looks like the brightness of the current palette will be gone, something Saturn did a few model years back, really was awfull to look at a car lot full of such dark tones.

Saturn/GM should have a core color palette, black, white, red, then shades of a blue, a green, maybe even gold or silver and then supplement them with other colors. The brown in the survey really will only look decent on the Outlook if there is enough of a metallic flake to it. I know with different computer monitor resolutions too, each color is going to look different to each of us and I hope they take that into consideration. I know its hard to predict trends in colors but most of these are just especially the green and the gray. The first color could be black or blue depending on light. Will be interesting to see them on a real car if this is what they are going with.

While I sort of like the light blue, the rest of the colors are very boring. They all seem to say "please don't notice this car".

I have to agree with you guys.
While I did name them (suitible boring names).... They are quite lackluster.
Now I am not going to put down anyones choice -- but look at what sells
Silver, Black, and Midnight Blue
Seems most people want that "Hey Don't Notice Me" look already.

While they say -- SATURN cars - they don't mention the Sky -- but I'd be hard pressed to pick one of them for my next car.

Well IF my screen name and the color of my 2 cars doesn't tell you what my general preference for colors are then....

I have to agree, the colors there are and lack pinazz. I will say, even though my Sky is Midnight Blue, around the downtown area of Chicago Friday night, the car got LOTS of looks and a few even pulled up next to me and commented what a great looking car, so I think even the darker colors get noticed just as much as the bright ones do. Its just an awesome looking car and that is what gets it noticed.

The SKY is what gets the looks -- we are talking colors here for mere "normal" Saturns.
I don't say anything is wrong with the colors I mentioned its just that none of them (the color not the car) stand out as they are so popular. There is nothing wrong with that everyone has their prefrence...

I can tell you I picked Silver because I saw nothing exciting. If they had the Gunmetal or Candy Apple color from my thread I would jump all over that!!

Well, saw a brown similiar to the one in the survey on a Bentley today. Nice metal flake but whew, what a dark color. Looked very elegant though. So for the Aura, these might be an ok color palette.

It's the one everyone thinks of when they point to our Skys and ask, "That's a Saturn?"

Oh, you mean like these? But I do agree with an earlier post, they should have given us a place to provide comments on what we thought about the colors too.

Glad you reminded me, ChgoBlues, I went to teh email I got from Saturn and made sure I passed on the comments here. Also, they do read Skyroadster on a regular basis. So while they did not leave a place to comment I did, and turned them on to our comments as well.

so, can we have some fun, or will Saturn get all ticked...?

Here's the colors. We could all have themes. It would be a game.

Back on Solsticeforum, we joked about naming the colors with an astronomical theme, like "full moon" for white, Lunar Surface or Asteroid or grays, Aurora, Solar for yellow, etc...

Pontiac obviously has an emotionally-adjective theme, what with Aggressive, Mean, Sly, Cool, Deep, Mysterious, Envious, Brazen, etc..
