24 stitches above my right eye...w/pic....

Well. To cut to the chase, this sunday we had our noreaster storm. I was in Atlantic City at the time, and went outside the casino to make a phone call. While on the phone, and standing on the center island in the valet area, I slipped on rainy wet marble/granite and fell face first into the marble/granite. I was wearing glasses at the time, and I cut my face pretty bad. I got sent to the local ER, and got stitched up. I also bumped my knee pretty good too, and got 4 stitches on my knee as well........even though I was wearing jeans.

All in all, I tried to enjoy myself the rest of the trip, and went right back to playing poker after being discharged from the hospital at 3am. They prescribed me some pain killers and an antibiotic which honestly I don't even need that much. The pain isn't too great, and just relaxing is doing wonders. Because of this, I however will be on disability from work for a few weeks. I also might file for disability on my car loan, as I have the insurance that pays my car payments until I get back on my feet, even if it's only one month. As far as the casino goes....I do have a lawyer, and I may just request payment for hospital bills and lost work time. I don't feel like gold digging, as it's not 100% their fault. It will probably settle out of court anyhow.

Now I DO warn you...........If you are in a work environment, or you're just queezy I suggest you STOP READING this thread as I'm going to post up a picture of the stitches.

How about all the money you were going to win at the casino until this happened? You've gotta be compensated for that. The scar will just give you character. If Reed doesn't use up all the pain killers, I'll take a few.

Sorry for your pain but as far as getting a lawyer, lets see raining, walking on a solid surface and slipped, I don't see where a lawyer is needed. Shouldn't be the casino's problem

That's a nasty looking cut. Take care of yourself and keep the area clean.

I'm a cable guy. I have to carry and climb 85lb. 24' tall ladders and work on power lines. Thus the disability. If I can't support an extra 100lbs on my leg and carry it 100ft, and then climb 24' up and stand holding my weight plus tools I can't work. And yes.......I do have to work on power lines on a daily basis.

I understand your point, and agree, it's not exactly their fault. I'm not trying to make a suit for extra money. My insurance should cover most of it, I just want to meet with management and come to an agreement out of kindness. The area I fell in was an outdoor enclosed valet area with a roof. I'm not a lawyer, so I don't know if they hold liability to that area. Either way, I just want to move on from this and not draw it out. I will still gladly return to that casino in the future.

As for the meds....haha........they gave me normal pain stuff, but then this other thing for "severe pain only." haha........can't operate heavy machines, take on an empty stomach, or more than once daily. Seems like some good stuff, ha ha. I'm avoiding using it as the other moderate pain med they gave me works just fine.

As far as the scar, it may add character, but now I can finally become an evil villan!! Every self respecting bad guy has to have a cool scar.

I should be able to. I have to get my stitches above my eye taken out sometime this weekend I believe, but I think that's going to be saturday. I can drive alright. I did clay bar my car and detail it before going to AC. I also detailed my friend's engine of his 5.0 Mustang. His dad was so impressed he wants to pay me to fully detail his Miata inside and out......and possibly his Harley's too. Nice little side cash while I can't really work. Just get a small bench on wheels so I can sit as I work and I'm fine.

Sorry to hear about your mishap! If you want to minimize that scar, get some Mederma cream and apply once the wound is closed. Don't want to mar that pretty face!!!! Hope you heal quickly and this doesn't hinder driving your Sky! Now that would be tragic!

Didn't know what you did for a living... I got a pretty bad knock on one of my shins during a snowboarding trip a few years back... had to get stiches... and I still feel a little soreness from time to time.
