50-60's TV trivia question

Does anybody remember a "Twilight Zone" or "Outer Limits" episode about the future elections being only one person randomly chosen to vote; ala new movie "swing vote"?

What?..Where?....Did someone say 50/60?

YouTube - Alizée - Fifty Sixty - fifty/sixty - 50/60

Sorry Kwayne.....I have a one track mind at the moment and your thread title didn't help.

As for your query, I don't remember that one, but it's been a very very long time...if that memory exists it is embedded deep in my neurons or has zapped itself away.

Isaac Asimov in his short story "Franchise" (1955: reprinted in Earth is Room Enough, Doubleday, 1957), where a single voter is chosen to decide each election

No, but I do remember a TZ called Pandora’s Box. A woman was given a box to hold for 72 hours. If she opened it up, she was given a Million Bucks. But, someone she didn’t know would die.

The box sat on her table the whole weekend. She went back and forth trying to decide if she should open it up. Then finally she said to herself, “People I don’t know die every day”. She opens the box and the door bells rings, the guy with the million dollars shows up and exchange’s the box for the cash. And tells her someone did die

She gets a little worry and asks what is he going to do with the box ? Oh don’t worry about the box; I’m taken to another person with the same offer, Its a person you don’t know !

List of The Twilight Zone episodes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I thought I had seen them all but I don't recall the one you inquired about. Maybe an Outer Limits, don't recall it but I'm interested in seeing it if it exists.

I saw that one! And now it spurs memory of a joke:

Dad overhears his little girl saying prayers at night. She gets to the end and says "And take real good care of Candy [pet cat] up in heaven". Dad knows Candy is still alive and doesn't think much about it.

Sure enough, next day, Candy keels over and dies. Dad wonders...coincidence?

Next night, little girl ends prayer asking God to take car of Grandmother...up in heaven. Dad is even more concerned, as Grandma is fine today.

Next day, he gets the bad news. Grandma had a stroke and died.

Now Dad is really concerned about this foresight his daughter has in her prayers each night. He listens in the third night and hears "And take real good care of my dad. Dad is trembling. "Oh my, am I next"?

Dad sits at home the next day, wondering...waiting. How will his end come? Stroke? Heart attack? What will happen. The hours go by. Nothing. Then about 8pm, wife comes home and exclaims to husband..."You will not believe what happened tonight". "You know Bill, my personal trainer at the gym"? "He just keeled over a died tonight".

" Button, Button "
A financially strapped couple are given an odd little box with a button on top, and told that if they push it they'll immediately receive $200,000, and someone they don't will die
