Why TV news anchors don't shut up during a moment of silence? Why do they feel need to talk during it and explain the picture on the screen to me? They are such idiots.

I'm waiting to see where they will stay during graduation next month - you know they will be there saying stupid things and asking stupid questions. If the hotels start giving our rooms away there will be a riot. Some of them were booked a year in advance.

Because news people think it is all about them, not about the news.

CBS Evening News is being evaluated on the job that Katie Couric is doing, not on the selection, quality or accuracy of their stories.

News people want to "change the world" and not just keep us informed about the world as it is.

Virginia Tech Officially Declares National Moment of Silence to be observed 9:45 am on Monday, April 23, correlating with the return of VT students to campus. The university encourages the entire nation to participate.

Virginia Tech students officially and respectfully request for all media in all
capacities to vacate campus by Monday at 5:00 am. With the exception of the Student Government Association Director of Public Relations, Liz Hart, no student leaders will be giving interviews or responding to media. Students in general will also be declining all requests and contact from the media.

Please grant us your understanding as this decision was made by the students, with the intent to regain a sense of normalcy as we prepare to move forward asan academic institution and as a community in the healing process.
