Helo, ok, so since i have moved i need to get a new car insurance provider, cause my current insurance company wants to jump $500 since i moved from NC to Chicago.
anyway, who ya'll got for car insurance? are they reasonably priced for a 6-month period?
i've done those comparisons on the web, i have checked some quotes from www.oneshopinsurance.com. yeah its cool but i would like to hear what's good from other forum members.kindly share your experience and ideas.

Hey Carla - welcome to Chicagoland.
The 500 dollar jump - for 6 months??
Are you living in the City? Really depending on your zipcode that price may not be too far off. There are many good insurance companies in and around Chi-town. But know it will most likely be more expensive to insure here than down in NC.

Try AIG. I was paying 560.00 on my base Solstice and this year only paying 240.00 on my GXP. This is for 6 months. I couldn't believe it. They say it's because they don't have to pay commision to an agent.

Last Year with all discounts for my Monte Carlo and base solstice 1,125.00 every 6 months and this Year my Monte Carlo and GXP 450.00 every 6 months.

I have been with Geico for over 20 years. I don't even think about shopping for insurance. Geico will not run your driver's license to check for points after something like 15 years. They have always been fair to me and I have never had a complaint.

Carla

I have been with nationwide for years - have home insurance with them as well - I just ran through the esurance we quote tool and assuming that I did everything right - it would only save me about $98 a year. of course that depends in part on what rate they would give me on the 1964 GTO in the garage - which cannot be entered on their web form - requires contact with an agent.

I get multi-car (4 cars), home and car, long-term, new car, accident free, and passive restraint system discounts from nationwide
