Cause it keeps me thinking

The past five or so days tant been the best for me. Cera the 21 year old that lives in my house found out that her best friend from highschool died from diabetes. She was a type two and used the needle to inject her insulin. She died in the fetal position and left a two year old behind. She was recently divorced. She was trying to make the best of life. This happened Thursday. Friday a man whom I have known since Jr. High died to liver cancer. He was a drug salesman for a long time. I would see him around town as he went about his work for over thirty years. God Bless Leroy Baker. He left behind a good woman and three youngins....Today was the visitation of the death of a seventeen year old whom I have known for as long as Melody has been a friend. His name was Jack David Couch lll. First born to JuLee and David Couch. It tears at my heart strings to know that his mom tried to wake him to go to school and he had died in the middle of the night from a blood clot. No mother ought to wake up and find thier first born dead in the bed. I gave Jules some comforting thoughts about how he is better off now under the wings of an angel. This woman has called me up once a week to ask me iffen I was OK. She talked long times with me and she was a caring woman. Her husband was the same way. I just do not understand sometimes the process of our Creator but I willingly go with the flow of his guidance. Just wanted to get this off my chest. I know that sometimes it is too much TMI but dang people how much can one have to endure in a weeks time...But life goes on and the angels do sing. Praise Him who made us what we are....Skip...Not feeling like smilies this morning. and having a heavy heart....

Gives you pause to reflect on how precious life is and how much we take for granted the joy we get from those that are part of our every day lives. I wish I could say that I treasure every moment I get from my family, but I know I live consciously thinking that today will be the same as yesterday and that those around me will always be there. You never know the answer to that so you live for the moment and treasure the memories you hold and live with the regret of those now empty places in your life. As long as you hold those memories dear in your heart, they are never gone. They are forever a part of your life.

Skip,
This reminds me of a conversation I had with a man in his mid 90s. He told me that even though his health was good and he was grateful that he had lived so long, it was sometimes difficult for him because most of his contemporaries had moved on to their reward.
What really impressed me though was that this man had a great outlook on life and was a great conversationalist; he made new friends easily. I know because I became a friend to him.
I know this doesn't help much, to appease your sorrow, but I think we need to mourn our losses, and at the same time, look forward to what the future brings also.

Dave

Question

I thought Jack David passed on Saturday. He would not have school then. I am so fearful that whatever it was that caused Jack to die will happen to my kids. I lay awake watching them sleep at night.
