Ah Yes, those hot summer nights, paying to get in by the "Car load" sitting in the back of the (reverse parked) truck in lawn chairs, watching the movie, and trying to hear what was going on from the Hook on Speaker. Then going to the Snack Shack to get food and goofing off in the playground untill they kicked you out because it was for the little kids. Yes I remember.

In fact, a "double date" could get by on less then ten dollers, between the two guys.

Ahh the good old days. Watching Capt. Kangaroo and Lassie. Going to driveins and watching Laurel & Hardy movies. Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. Taking out your toy guns and playin Cowboy and Indians. Going out into the corn fields and getting corn on tha cob. Jumping out of trees with capes on. Helping your dad do a brake job on a 56 Dodge and breathing in brake dust. No A/C and not caring how hot it got because of sprinklers. Yes the good old days.......Skip....

I remember going with my parents to see the new Henry J.

I live a mile from a drive-in theater that closed this season and the weeds are growing up. I have a restored 29 Model A Ford Tudor that I think I will drive over and park it in the middle of the property and step back and take a photo before they tear it down.

I drove a 50 Mercury coupe to high school and it was just a used car then. Today when James Dean's name comes up a 50 Merc is usually mentioned also. I live 35 miles southeast of where he grew up and is buried and every year in Sept. they have a big James Dean festival. BTW I have a 50 Merc coupe in my garage that I am currently restoring.

Thanks for the memories guys!

Does anybody remember getting things like drinking glasses and china when you filled up at a Gas Station?

How about getting a little inflatable Dinosaur from Sinclair Gas Stations.

How about this: "Show me your Larks", "I would rather fight than switch", "Taste Me Taste Me" and "just a silly little millimeter longer" ???

Ok Ernest you started this you stinker.
Challenge! Anyone that remembers going to Woodstock could not have really been there. Heck the rockers on stage don't remember.

I remember finally being old enough to get the largest super duper 25 cent ice cream cone.

I remember black and white tv and the day Buffalo Bill changed the color of his costume to show better on color tv (which I never saw til he was done)

I remember watching Neil Armstrong walking on the moon when it happened (and in color by then) and taking Polaroid pictures of the tv (I still have them)

I remember blocks of ice dispensed at the corner and taht my grandparents still used it in one fridge. I aslo remember that grandfather taking me on one of the last trips of the Pittsburgh trolley. (before the new ones)

One of you mentioned KATE SMITH...I can hear God Bless America in the background as I type...anyone have a hanky?
