Well this is a major bummer. I'm home from work today. Why? Because some disgruntled employee ended up shutting us down. That's just so ignorant. It completely baffles me as to why people are so stupid. If you don't like your job...please go work somewhere else! This is serious stuff. The sad thing is, it's most likely a hoax, but anymore, you have to take everything seriously. The thing I fear is the person or people keep doing it over and over until they are caught! Then everyone I work with will be out of a job. So very senseless! What is it with people?

You know what...I'm not sure. I'm salaried, so I don't know if I'll get paid or not. I offered to stay and help out, but they were evacuating the building and had plenty of people there.

I don't think posting exactly what happened is a good idea. I will say a threat was made. And it's just so, so, so very stupid!! We just had our company party Friday night. And it's a very, very nice deal! Our owner is extremely generous. Everyone gets $50 in cash for a gift. Our company hosts a party for all of the employee's kids and they each get a gift...a very nice gift. We're renting out an entire bowling alley for a day so the different shifts can all make it. Cost to the employees is nothing. We also have food catered in probably 3-4 times per year, they did circus tickets again this year! Tons of stuff companies don't do for people anymore. It's sad to see someone take advantage of it like that by doing something really, really stupid. I hope they figure out who it is, cause they're going to be in some very serious trouble with the authorities. Basically, most of the county law enforcement was at our plant this morning.

Holy crap. That's just ridiculous- especially if you have hourly employees trying to scrape money together for Christmas. It sounds like your company is as good to people as mine, so I'm sure they won't leave anyone hanging.

I hope the wacko is found and dealt with quickly.

Exactly! Here these people are trying to get as many hours as possible before the holidays and some idiot does this! I got to thinking...it could be a temporary employee who was upset about not being invited to the company party. But still!

Like my buddy Soup...he's hourly. He won't get paid today. The office may or may not get paid today...I don't know. Per company policy...1st shift employees will get paid for 4 hours, so they at least get 1/2 a day of pay. Don't know if we'll be able to start up on 2nd shift or not.

At least the threat wasn't carried out. That would have been a terrible tragedy.

Big new project going on at work. Started it yesterday...

I got Soup a Chia Shaggy for Christmas!!

We're soaking the Chia seeds right now. I think they may really be aliens as it's only been a few minutes and they are already turning slimey. Anyone know what that stuff really is?

Yeah, but I was surprised at how fast they turned all slimey. It only took a few minutes and they started getting fuzzy. Ooh...that reminds me, I need to find a plastic bag for it for the greenhouse effect.

Do ya think I may have to run into work this weekend and water the thing? Probably huh?

I was out at lunch today and I saw a guy in a SUV with the window down (kind of chilly today) and his arm hanging out with a cigarette in his hand. I wonder if he's afraid of getting second hand smoke if he rolled up the windows

But I gotta say I'm rather impressed with the thing. We just put the seeds on it and it looks perfect. I just gotta run down to R&D and grab a plastic bag to create the greenhouse effect.
