I remember that chick that was on the Sol Forum for awhile.
Here's my starting pic. It's even on the Sky People thread just for Skip! I won't be posting the rest though.

That theory almost works though. This is not an easy week due to so many games that could go either way! The only safe bet is NE this week.

You've probably already turned your picks in, but SURE! Bengals over Steelers

I will say I'm a newbie to the WHO-DEY nation...but I do enjoy Bengals football. Too bad they didn't live up to their potential this season.

Even though I enjoyed watching Big Ben play at Miami of Ohio (went to grad school there), I cannot root for the Steelers. I grew up a Dallas fan in the 70's (in elementary school), when Bradshaw kept beating the 'Boys in the Super Bowl. Old grudges die hard.

Luckily Dallas is playing well, since Cincy is suckin' so badly this year!

I'm Hijacking this un-hijackable thread!

Diane:

When I was with a Saturn Car Club we used to do a neat little trip over to Peoria around Christmas time. We would have dinner at some place quaint. One year we had it in New Salem at the Restaurant there and then drove to Peoria to do the light shows.

At that time Peoria had two different festival of lights. One you got out of your car walk around enjoyed the light shows, ginger bread houses on display shopped and then we would take a drive over to the other which was a park that had lights all over. The driving show took about a half hour to drive through and was pretty good.

Do you ever talk to skypup. Maybe he could feed us some information on these shows and perhaps if you haven't already sent out your newsletter we could put together a pre-christmas drive and dine in Peoria.

Consider the hijack over. I'm about to press the submit thingy.

I have 2 hrs to change them. But I left Pitt my 15 choice. They could blow it, but we're talking Cinci who has only showed up to 1 game in recent weeks. Pitt's D should take care of this. But I'm very nervous about putting a 15 on it.

This is where you get into trouble playing a confidence pool. No matter which teams are your favorites and which teams you despise, you have to make unbiased picks. Soup's Bear's pick was biased, but that game could go either way so I'm fine with it. I'm very uncomfy with his Oakland pick and his Carolina pick. SF's offense showed up last week.

I like to use stats like who wins when it's below 30 outside, and who tends to win the match ups between the teams and where. Let's take Cincy and Pitt...If Cincy has won 4 of the last 6, or if they always beat Pitt at Pitt, I'll take Cincy. Unless Cincy is really horrible. If they are streaky, I'll still take them, because they still have a better shot at beating Pitt. I don't have stats like these this week cause of the Thursday game. I get them in Friday's paper. I might try to hunt them down. If anyone has a good website where I can find stuff like that easily, let me know.

a 15 is really strong...even if it IS the Bengals you're talking about.

Their offense was there last weekend. You cannot depend on it staying home, but...15 of 16 on confidence level....I think not.

I need to get over that direction as I'm seeing possible fun roads to the West of Peoria. I hear Peoria has an amazing...really amazing fireworks display on July 4th, but I didn't know about the festival of lights. I really enjoy coming down the hill on 116 heading into town both day and night. I find the view of the city really gorgeous. Espcially at night with the lights from the building reflecting off the river.

I can e-mail Puppy. I haven't talked to him since the Dells. We'll have to pick a date quick. Dec. 15th maybe? That's about the only date I have open unless it's during the week. And I could do that no problem.

Haven't e-mailed the Newsletter thingy...will wait for Puppy's e-mail now.

Well, I don't know where else to put it. Especially when you look at the other match ups. This week, everyone is going to lose a high numbered game or 2. There won't be any getting around it. Too many games that could go either way. Here are my current picks:

GB vs Dallas - 8
Atl vs StL - 9
Buff vs Wash - 10
Det vs Minn - 7
Houston vs Tenn - 4
Jax vs Indy - 14
NY Jets vs Miami - 12
SD vs KC - 13
Seattle vs. Philly - 3
SF vs Carolina - 5
Cleveland vs AZ - 11
Den vs Oak - 1
TB vs NO - 6
NY Giants vs Chi - 2
Cincy vs Pitt - 15
NE vs Balt - 16
Total Points of the Baltimore/New England game used for tie-break: 44

If you have any suggestions, I'll take em!!
1 hr 57 mins left to change em!

No, but I could make that happen. Might take a while to get that accomplished though. I am familiar with a brass pole at a bachelor pad. I've attended a couple of parties at said pad and am buddies with the owner. In fact, I could go ask him about it now. I'll get a lotta crap from the maintenace guys, but what else is new?!?

I woulda had some if there had been pictures taken while on stage at a certain establishment this summer. Although I never did hug the pole though now that I think about it.

Yeah...I might change it. Just found some stats/facts. Cincy is 3-4 at Pitt. That's pretty dang good. And their offense has been picking up lots of yardage the last few weeks. If they have a good week on offense, I agree, they could beat the crap outta Pitt. The stats overall favor Pitt, but info from the recent weeks favors Cincy. But what else am I gonna do? Where would I put this game? Edit - moved Pitt to 13. I moved up Indy and SD to 15 & 14. Cross your fingers there on those 2.

I'm gonna switch the Denver game. They've won 8 of the last 9 against Oakland. Oakland's QB's have been sacked 10 times in the last 3 games and Denver already beat them once this year. I gave Denver a 7, and moved the Bears to a 1 and renumbered accordingly. Gave Minn the 5.

Wow...Favre is 0-5 in TX Stadium. Ouch. He's never won there. Dallas is on fire right now!

OK, much praying this week to maintain my 1st place standing! I've never moved the numbers around so much. This can't be good!

Crazy Stunt

Went to a White Sox game with my boss and other employees. I had to be about 22.(needless to say there was alot of drinking involved) On the way home on the Dan Ryan approaching the I290 ramp, traffic was at a stop. My boss was driving, He turns his head arround and challenges me to get out of the mini van and to surf on the empty flat bed semi in front of us. He said there was $20 in it for me. So I throw open the sliding door of the mini van run to and jump on the flat bed trailer. The second I jump on the trailer traffic lifts. I ride the semi from the Dan Ryan on to and down I290 for about 2 miles. I'm yelling trying to get the drivers attention, no use. We had to be going 60-70 mph. The mini van pulls up to the driver and motions to pull over. Finally the truck driver realized I was on the trailer and pulled over. Jump off the trailer and into the mini van. Ended up getting $100. $20 from everyone.

So if NE loses, that's 16 pts I won't be getting. But if Denver beats Oakland, that's only 1 pt I won't get. A NE loss hurts me way more than a Denver loss.

This week is really hard to number because many of these games could go either way. I need to hunt up some stats. I might change that Oakland pick. Not sure I agree with it. I'll probably change the numbers some too.
