People [who drive] with cell phones scare me!

OK Maybe I'm a little overprotective of my Sky but......people on cell phones drive like they are DRUNK! They swerve....ride my tail....brake suddenly...change lanes sudenly and often without a signal.....and almost every time as I carefully get away from them....I notice they are on a cell!!!!!!

Distracted drivers are the bane of our roads!

Just a rant.....

It would be nice if more manufactures would build in Bluetooth so phones could be hands free in cars.

Down here we refer to that at the FD as driving a phone booth....

OnStar makes it nice and hands free.

Very soon after getting our SKY we realized that driving and talking were definitely mutually exclusive (manual trans). Now with OnStar at least I can drive. I see people talking on phones and NOT EVEN LOOKING at the road - looking down - writing etc ..

When cell phones first came out... and i started noticing EVERYONE chatting up a storm with theirs.. i carried a big.... BRIGHTLY COLORED STOP SIGN WITH ME...... i made it myself... a huge contruction paper shaped like a stop sign... with a stick.. that said.... HANG UP AND DRIVE!!!!!!... i thought it was just a DUMB saying.. but then a few years later.... I SEE BUMPER STICKERS THAT SAID THE SAME THING... ugh..... i could be rich by now.... WAY TOO FUNNY... it drives me nuts when they are in the FAST lane on the freeway and going 45..... UGH...... then as we pass on the right.. which , by the way, i dont ENCOURAGE.... they are just BSing on their phone..... or the parent is driving bent over the seat yelling at the kids.. and on the phone.... or maybe.... the person who has no time for eating.... so, they eat and talk on the phone and.. DRIVE... not too cool.... i mean, am i guilty of it? heck yeah.... but, i stay on the phone long enough to say... i will call you back... if i dont have my bluetooth thingie... which.. i dont cuz i am lazy.... and i usually let the voicemail get the call unless i am waiting for a specific call.... Ugh.. ok.. my rant over...SkyBaby-07

Although things like dialing a phone while driving can be dangerous, the reality is that doing anything while driving can be dangerous. Changing the radio station or switching CDs or mp3 tracks also distract you from the road. Handsfree cell phones don't really make the process any safer. If you are one of the people that cannot talk on the phone and drive your car at the same time because you get caught up in the conversation or otherwise distracted, you are a danger to everyone.

Just wondering, would any of you have a reason to notice the drivers who are on their cell phones who are not weaving all over the road?

They're starting that here in Los Angeles, but the ticket is only $20. With the type of money people have out here, that's nothing! What's the point?

And you're right, the scene here in LA is downright silliness. EVERYONE is on their phone. And then they're on the phone staring at your car on your right, and you can't even get over because they're telling the person on the phone about the car, driving and not paying attention to you trying to get over, even with your stinking blinker on....... Why I oughtta....

Anyway, that's my rant.

I try and notice ALL drivers. Because I am into performance driving, the #1 rule is to "BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS". I also look WAY ahead when I drive, not just at the car in front of me. It's 2nd nature now. So those who are not on the phone are either putting on make up, shaving, eating, smoking with one hand or picking their noses (for the most part).
