I haven't fooled with the promotions stuff, so it is prolly something set up by Troy. I know I was surprised because ssrfanatic and corvetteforum have a promotion level thing based on a few of the early milestones that first participants encounter... I don't think SF has anything except for the 30/30...

Typically there are the following type of participants (DO NOT TAKE THESE AS PERSONAL INSULTS OR COMMENTRY - THEY ARE VERY GENERAL AND FOR ILLUSTRATION POINT):

-the "0" poster, or lurkers.
-the onesey-twosey posters
-the trolls - a 'special' type of onesey-twosey poster...
-the >10 posts a day rabbit posters (they usually don't last for long, or overpost, they can annoy some members, and usually don't last for much longer than a few days).
-the normal member, ~ 1-2 posts per day, in the fray for the long term, been here for at least a month.
-the 'matured' normal member, >100 posts, been a member for a while, has participated enough that people get to 'know' the personality of the poster, and hasn't done anything that got them banned.

The 30/30 rule kinda separates the longer term participants from the quickie single-questions/onsey-twosey posters. The >100 posts kinda identifies those that are longer term participants.

I don't believe there is much of a difference between a "member" and "senior member". Junior members are limited on avatars until the 30/30 rule has been satisfied - then you become a "member".

And why is that? I am a Senior, not just here but for real, and enjoy it. I have made it and live comfortably, can have just about anything I want. I am able to pay cash for my SKY & AURA, as I have in the past for all my new Saturns. Same with my house. Now is that really terrible, and being retired. everyday is the weekend.
