Skip's girlfriend in coma after auto accident

So you had a bad day...Tomorrow is another day...Skip... As a side note my girlfriend wreaked my 02 Ranger Sunday and is still in a coma but the Ranger is totaled. She flipped it 2 times and went into a ditch. It looked to me about 5000 dollars or more of damage. I bought the truck for 1900 dollars. Salvage yard owns it now. When she comes out of the coma she has some explaining to do...She is on my short list....

Here are pictures of the truck at the salvage yard. She was not wearing a seatbelt . Notice the one with the windshield head on and you can see her DNA all over the top part of the windshield...Skip...kinda hard to talk about maybe tomorrow.

skip don't be to hard on her, if she is in a coma, and when she does come out of it she may not remember what happened. just be thankfull she is alive. she is in our thoughts and payers. (and so are you) that is my worth.

The story

It came to pass about a year ago. I meant a woman who was moving out of her rented house and had nowhere to go. I had an extra bedroom and being as I live by myself and got tired of talking to the four walls asked her to take the spare bedroom. The companionship was good and all her furniture was in my garage. After a while she said she could move out since she had enough money for an apartment. Then her car would not start. She asked if she could use my 02 Ranger and run a few errands. I said ok and be back for the Alabama and Auburn game. She took off and the next time I see her is in the Hospital. Her daughter calls and says she is in the ER and to come see. The drug screen they did on her came back positive for Zanax and Crack cocaine. I do not do drugs and this came as a surprise to me. She was released on tuesday evening and came to my house. She has been staying in her room until yesterday. Her daughter took her back to the hospital because of the little things like hot and cold , not seeing clearly, unstablness on her feet and weird smells she said she was smelling. All this is symptoms of head truma. She is now back in the hospital and will go to brain rehab after she gets out. She told me she needs to move out to not be a burden on me. I agree as I have the last stages of Pulmonary Fibrosis and can just care for myself. What got me is she was doing drugs and I had no sign that she was. Maybe I am too nice a person to see it before my eyes but non the less it still was not right to borrow my truck and do what she did with utter disregard for the relationship and trust that I thought we had going...At least she admited her mistakes and is doing better than I had hoped hitting the windshield while under the influence of heavy drugs...Skip...

Skip, it's amazing the people we meet that are on a path of self destruction. We have enough problems with illnesses that are not of our own doing. You were great to give her a home and expose yourself to the associated risks. Few of us are willing to do that. Sorry you lost your Ranger and hope your Pulmonary Fibrosis can improve.

I think a lot of people know relatives and/or friends that use illegal drugs and they have no clue....

The only cure for IPF, Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, is a new lung. But that still will not make me whole again. It will give me a few more years to live. Right now with no lung transfer I have about on average 3 more years to live. If I lose 40 more pounds I will be assessed on the lung transfer list at Vanderbilt. I just put myself in the hands of the MAN upstairs and let HIM decide where I am ...Skip...

Hey Skip

We have to take chances in life. To not trust and love again someday would be the loss here. The next toss of the dice, when you are ready to hold your hand out again, maybe you will hit the jackpot. I wish you well.

You're one helluva guy offering your hand to help someone in need.

I hope she got the wake-up call as well as you.

I wish you both the best.

When a head hits the windshield in order to push it out like the truck has done causes blackouts. She has short term memory loss and some long term. I saw her today in the hospital . She knows my name and says she remembers that she had wanted to kill herself. That is why she did what she did. I told her that the doctors would give her the best of help. Then I left. No use having someone watch you cry. I feel so hopeless knowing that after she finishes all the therapy and such that I can not let her into my house. The next time it might be setting a fire or me waking to a knife in my chest. Who knows but one entity does and HE won't tell. ...Skip..at least I can drive the Sky and forget about matters as this for a short while...HE gives you strengh when yours fails....

No good deed goes unpunished! I hope your only liability is the truck.

Poor reality testing...and look, I am married 25 years. Look at my reality

There was an old Alan Arkin movie with the title...the Heart is a Lonely Hunter....it appears 4 walls does make u lonely...Good luck and remember, this is the first day of the rest of your life...go out and have fun.
