07 saturn sky window rubbing top

Can anyone give me any information on the window glass rubbing and fraying
the edge of the convertible top? I think they should have added a feature that rolls the glass down slightly when the door is opened and closed. I just bailed out on having the top replaced under warranty by the local Saturn dealership. They said that they had never changed out a top and would need several days because of this. That scares me! I decided to wait until the warranty coverage was almost over and then get the new top rather than giving them my car for "on the job" training.

Welcome to the forum! If I remember correctly, you have an alignment issue with the window. It shouldn't rub the top as yours did. Tough call on the top replacement under warranty. I think I'd be a bit uncomfortable that they might not offer a replacement later, but ya never know!

I had an issue with the material on the underside of the top bunching up just above the driver's window on my 2007 base. I thought the dealer would repair it under warranty. Instead, they ordered me a new top. They didn't have experience with putting one on either so they had a shop in town that does this put it on. My car had 29,000 miles on it and the new top is great. It is tighter than the first one and works quite well. I'm glad I did it, even though I am now in the process of selling the car. Someone is going to get a brand new top, something that wears out in a convertible. As long as you're under warranty, I would do it. They'll have to make it right if anything isn't to your liking.

This is deffinitly an alignment issue with the glass. There is a fore-aft adjustment and a tilt adjustment. Your windows should never hit or tub on the canvas. If you take it to a dealer they can usually adjust it witin an hour or so, assuming they arn't busy or you have an apointment .
