1st Impressions of our new Redline.

One word.....WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !
This car is everything I had hoped for and more. It is definitely worth waiting for. I hate to pull it into the garage and get out of it. The power is more than I had anticipated (I had a '94 Z-28 years ago). It handles better than any car I have had the oportunity to drive. There isn't any body roll while taking corners. It is just awesome. I've been reading everyone's thoughts good/bad about this car for almost 2 years, and to be honest was a little worried I had it so built up in my mind that it couldn't possibly deliver my expectations. Well...It did and then some. I can't find anything wrong with it at all short of a very small chip that the dealer is going to fix. The way it hugs you as you sit in the drivers seat is phenomenal. All the issues people bring up about lack of storage space, cup holders, trunk space, power top, etc is no issue with me. This is my first convertible, so I have never had the luxury of a power top, but even being new at it i think I could put it up or down faster than most power tops, although I have had T-Tops, and this is far more convenient than those are. It is so funny sitting here all this time and reading about people with permagrin when they get theirs.... I pulled mine in the driveway and the first thing I did was but on a stubby antenna, and little chromies. as I was installing these, I caught myself with the the silly grin evryone speaks of so often. It made me think of all the people here who have helped answer lots of questions and provided so information on this vehicle and made the long wait bearable. I look forward to contributing from an owner's perspective from now on, qalthough I'm sure I'll still have plenty of questions. that's it for now, oh and pics will be on the way as soon as stop driving long enough to clean her up really good.

Your story sounds like a carbon copy of mine. After more than three months, the thrill remains!

I couldn't say it better. I've had my Sky Redline for 6 weeks now and I just itch to run out for a ride. My poor old '99 Trans AM has only been driven once to get an inspection sticker. I guess it becomes my winter beater.

I haven't had this much fun since I got my license at 16 and roared off in my '49 Ford V8 Coupe.

Same here. I bought the Roadster and drove it for 4 months till I found a redline. Now I've had the redline going on 3 weeks. Combined, I've put almost 8000 miles on the two in just under 5 months and I still drive it as often as I can. Actually about to take a 2 hour ride to the keys for lunch.

Yeah! And do you know why it's called a "perma"grin? Because it NEVER goes away!! Been in the Sky for almost a year now...and it's still there!!

CONGRATULATIONS and enjoy that new ride.

Can someone answer a question for me? In an automatic, are the little circles by the gear shifter that signify if you are in P, R, D, 4, etc supposed to light up to show which you are in? It looks like they should, but mine don't. It is impossible to see at night. Thanks,

I know. I haven't had time. They will be coming. I need to wash it before the pics. I'm getting married in 3 weeks and have been so busy helping my future wife out with final things in regards to that. I really appologize. You guys won't be disappointed. It looks awesome. It's even better than I imagined. I hope you all get them really soon. I will post ASAP

Yes, they should always be lit to indicate which 'gear' you've selected - should be an easy dealer fix.

I don't know...at this point pictures might just piss me off.

My car is sitting in some transfer lot in Arlington, and no one is answering the phone at my dealership...!

I've had mine 3 days now, I'd say yours should be any day now. I hope so. by the way. I checked my paperwork, and the order number was the one they gave me at the start. Just weird that none of my codes came through when deluke looked them up. i'm glad now though, because it was a very unexpected nice surprise when I got the call it was here.
