2008 Allocation Process

Wanted to get your opinion on a comment from a Saturn dealer. I was told by a GM at a Saturn dealership that Saturn dealers have already put in their request for the first 2008 allocation run and have been already been told how many they would get when the allocations run in the next couple of weeks. In his case he asked for 6 Redlines and was guaranteed three with a delivery by the end of August. He can order against those once the allocations are run with images. Seems kind of odd as I thought they would not know until the allocations were run. If this is true the dealers out there should be able to tell you if you can get a 2008 from the first allocation run.

Anyway, I believed him as I was #2 on the list and put a refundable deposit down (in writing). Also this was the only dealer I found that would sell at MSRP with no dealers add-on's and would also give me GM supplier pricing on a Redline ($1,400 under MSRP!).

My Saturn dealer told me that they were expecting 6 allocations in the first wave which they were expecting this week or next week. I was also told that I was first one the list for a 2008.

My dealer also sells at MSRP with no dealer add-ons. They are great to work with and put up with me when I become a pain because I am too excited.
