2008 Sky Redline

I am looking at ordering a Sky Redline and so far I have a minimum of a 2 month wait time depending on the dealer I go through for a custom order. Should I just wait an extra few months and get the 2008? Does anyone know when the 2008 model will come out? I heard there are hardly any changes but I hate to receive a new car and a few weeks later it is already a year old and you did not get any year end discount.

It's up to you, but I agree, there will not be any earth shaking changes to the 2008 SKY...

If it takes two months for them to put in your order you will almost for sure get a 2008. If they say two months from now that would mean they will put in the order now and you will get your car right before they build the 08s. They start building 08s in June I believe. The exact dates are on this forum somewhere if you search hard. Just request an 08 from your dealer and I'm sure they will know what do. I think you might as well wait a month or so now that its so close to the 08s.

I have spoken to 7 dealers and all of them claim they don't know when the 2008 will come out and they have received nothing from Saturn about the 2008. They all consistently said they cannot place an order for 2008 until the SPEC's are released on that vehicle. Tried going through customer service and that was a waste of time and they said the same thing

I gotta think someone must know more info. I could order the 2007 thinking I will get a 2008 but I don't want to get scewed on timing. If I wait until the 2008 info is released I could be waiting an additional 6 months for ordering lead time. I did find a discussion posted that they would know in 1 week but they never followed up to mention the date

Place your order and specify u want a 2008...this way when they receive the go ahead...u got it....but make sure it is in writing....Every dealership likes holding a deposit.

I know it really sucks. I did find a discussion in another thread with some good info on the 2008. I have a dealer that has just received 8 allocations for red lines. He said he can have delivery in 2 months. I might go to him and see if he can specify he wants a 2008 or for me to put down a deposit and save the allocation for a 2008 (if it works like that). Does anyone know how much the price jump will be?

What you are feeling now is the way this forum was a year ago..right people????? Anywho No One will know about the 08 until Saturn in their own time says something...If you know your dealer well ...Give them a deposit on a 08 Sky and get the reciept in writing so you cover your own buns....Skip...The dealer should give you a call when they are ready to put you into the system..GET IT IN WRITING.....

We are in line for the first 08 RL out of our dealership. We put our deposit down last September. When our dealership is ready to enter orders for 08's into the system, we will get a call to finalize which specs we want. We've been told sometime in mid to late May is when we might expect to get that call.

I ordered my wife's RL in Feb. It came in 6 weeks to the day!!!

Just did the same with a high volume Saturn dealer in Atlanta. First in line with this dealer for the 2008 baby! Best of all they told me I did not have to put down a deposit until they could enter it into the system and we finalize the new spec's, hopefully late May.
