$21,500 trade in

I just went and looked at a new 2008 Red Line. The dealer offered me $21,500 for my car. I have a 2007 Base Sky with leather and all the good stuff. Is this a good deal or not

jesus...I already have that many miles on my 08 RL.

back to your original question, you could probably get a couple thousand more for yours.

For being in IL - I think that is a very good offer for an '07, especially for this time of year.

And yes ,you might get more - but only if you drove it to FL or the Southwest.

Send a message via MSN to Jay_Sin
Someone just traded theirs in for 21,000 the other day. So I'd say that is the going rate for trade-in.

Our Evansville In. Saturn dealer "SAW MY WIFE" coming when she said she wanted to take a birthday present home to her husband. She had no clue what she was doing and she got SCREWED!!! She financed a used 07 with 10,800 miles on it for an even $26,000.00. Traded her vehicle (SCREWED AGAIN !!!) and now still owes. Dear Lord, I love her, and her heart is more precious than Gold! Shame on You Romain !!!! Any way, your dealer offer sounds ok to me for a trade on the redline. They will probably get 23 to 24,500 for yours on resale I would guess. But then again look on E-bay, and the "for sale" prices in this forum.

If you're paying straight MSRP on the RL, then it's a good deal. If your paying for a bunch of add ons, it depends.

I got 21,500 for my base, with only 6K miles, back in August...but that was at a Toyota dealership.....your offer sounds about right with the mileage...

If you want to make more money try selling it on Ebay or put an ad in your local trader car magazine, I have seen several on Ebay and I don't know if the car has been that successful there and I am very surprised how many are constantly being offered for sale on this forum as well !!!....but remember these cost money to do and your time can be taken over by "tire-kickers" and young people that want to test drive your car only.....remember (not a car dealer or want to defend them) that the dealer has to clean it or detail it, and maybe add tires, these cars are definitely "fair-weather " vehicles, so I think their values swing with the seasons, how many want to buy one in Minnesota or North Dakota in the winter where in south Florida they are a nice year round car, have it sit on their lot for whatever till it sells or they sell it for a very little profit at an auction, you also have to remember that an 08 with same or more items, brand new, no miles, can be had for about 26000, in some states you only have to pay sales tax between what they give you for the trade in and the cost of the new one, because if you sell it out right, when you buy the new one, you have to pay sales tax on the total new amount !! Just my $.02....good luck,

I went back this morning and came home with a new black Red Line. They ended up giving me 22,500 for my car and I paid MSRP for the new one. The New RL is sleeping in the back room now

Sounds Good

We just traded our 07 Base in for a Redline and got 21,000, plus a 500 dollar rebate.

We had under 11,000 miles and it was in immucalate condition!

ps: You liked the base and you'll love the Redline!

Sounds like a real good deal. Enjoy the RL.
