$25,000 Single Bike Carrier

For those of you fellow Sky Cyclists, I thought you might get a good laugh out of how I use my Sky to get me to the local bike rides. It's not the most elegant of solutions, but it works.

I put a board down on the seat to protect it from the front fork sticking into the leather. I cover the seat with towels, then I shoe-horn the bike into the passenger seat. The bike leans up against the door and doesn't budge while driving. Sure beats trying to kluge a trailer hitch on my car!

As a serious cyclist myself, I would not have risked the fork blades puncturing the seat cover without a dropout protector to give more of a base to rest on. That plus anything over 40 MPH and I'd be afraid of losing it (unless it's seatbelted ).

I'm curious....what did the airbag sensor say...???

There is a license plate frame / no touch single-bike rack that you can get for sport cars. That C-dale of yours is probably under 20 lbs. and would be a good candidate for one of those.

At least you did not try a roof rack.

OK, I'm done.

The pedal outside the door looks like it would scratch the paint...It looks scary to me

I was thinking of tying mine upside down on the rear decklid (with towels, etc.) when it's time for its Spring service. Then I just decided I'll borrow my old car back for the day.

Previously, people complained about having a towing attachment on a kappa (Trailer hitches). Well, this is an excellent example of the usefulness of one. I've considered getting a towing attachment for my Sky just for going biking.

I do put the seatbelt tightly over the frame so it can't go anywhere.

The airbag doesn't know anything is in the seat, so it won't deploy...which is a good thing.

Can you provide more info? Like who makes it or where it can be found? I don't think I've ever seen it. I've got a Saris Bones rack now, which overall is great, but even if it fits on a Sky, I don't think I'd be using it because of the scratches it puts on my current car.
