26 complaints so far on www.NHTSA.com

I LOVE my car except for this brake issue alot of us have at start-up. You've all read about it on these forums. I still do NOT feel a car should have to warm-up for the brakes to function properly. The dealer is wrong by stating this is normal.
This is happening on Redlines as well as standard SKY'S.

If you are having this issue please file a complaint on Home | National Highway Traffic Safety Administration(NHTSA) | U.S. Department of Transportation under service brakes/ hydraulics so that they can do something about it once and for all. It took less than 5 min. to file.
This is a SAFETY ISSUE people! I just want to feel 100% safe and it must be corrected.

If valet or someone else drove my car who knows what could happen!!!!

I beg to differ on it happening to standard Skys. I have not read any posts from standard Skys having this brake problem....Skip...

My understanding is that it is an issue on 08 Redlines. My 07 Redlines brakes function at startup perfectly, I tested them many times due to the reports of this, but my late year 07 is perfect.

The problem stems from the lack of an aux. vacuum boosteron the brake assembly. It was eliminated on the 08's for unknown reasons. So when the Skt R/L is started you have to wait about 30 seconds for the vacuum to build enough so that you get complete brake function. It would behoove you to read up ad nauseum on this subject in the numerous threads that have appeared on this forum.... Skip I have no problem with my brakes cause I own an early VIN 101576....

Well it doesnt seem to be a really big issue, i thought it was going to be something far greater than that. Either way I'll look around for the theads on this topic.

Skip, you are correct.... It is Redlines.

I love my car and would not give it up but this issue must be resolved.

For everyone's safety.

What valet is going to wait before throwing it into gear?????

Tell the valet to test the brakes before moving it....Skip...On a side note...I wonder iffen the aux. vacuum pump can be bought and hooked up to the engine. I myself do not have a R/L but it would be wise to see if one could be adapted to the vacuum line...Skip...

I must be one of the lucky ones. I have an 08 Redline straight shift and so far, knock on wood; I have never had a problem. I did have it role one time when I was sitting on a hill with my foot on the break while the car was not running, out of gear and with the emergency break off but when it started rolling I jammed the break hard and it grabbed the E break. I actually looked at the master cylinder last time I had the hood open and it actually has a vacuum booster... At least it has what resembles on. I did not look to see if it actually had a vacuum line going to it. The car was ordered in July and delivered in September.
