Just a touch on both the metal and wheel well liner.
I let the plastic self clearance but took a hammer to the area that was rubbing on the inside.
This eliminated the need for small spacers

Do you think 1/4 inch spacers would eliminate any rubbing?

On the metal definitely.
Probably not on the plastic. That occurrs on hard acceleration.

Is it a real issue? Like, will it cause wear issues?

I don't think so.
I know some people who have experienced that with 255 and 265s. If you look at the wheel well in front the rear tires, it has a weird flat spot vs being round.
That's the area where the contact will occur.
It's rubs away and resolves the issue on it's own.

I'd take pictures, but my Sky is at DDM having open heart surgery.
Maybe Dave will see this and snap a picture of my wheel well.
